Goodbye Elora Inn: Totally Addictive Crime Fiction (A DC Holly Towns Mystery Novella) (A Port Alma Murder Mystery Book 8) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 283 ratings

Snowbound with a killer? A romantic weekend turns deadly when DC Holly Towns and Danny Cavallo check into the Elora Inn.

Holly has just finished two weeks on shift and Danny is celebrating the launch of his private security firm. A getaway at the Elora Inn, a short drive east of Port Alma, sounds perfect.

With a blizzard raging outside as they arrive, the inn is a cozy haven… until the body of Professor Clive Langston is found early on the first morning.

Drifts of snow surround the inn. No one can enter. No one can escape. The killer is among them.

The Internet is sketchy, backup is impossible, and Holly and Danny must rely in their wits to eliminate suspects and zero in on the perpetrator.

Langston had a strong connection to Central America, but then so do many of the guests and staff. The clue is useless.

Except as an ominous message. The odds are high that another guest will be the next target.

Can the pair put the killer on ice before a second tragedy?

Goodbye Elora Inn is a novella, a short read that's long on action and suspense. An intriguing puzzle, perfect for a cold winter’s night.

I love writing every day and the result so far is four mystery series, and counting. I’ve been retired from teaching for a couple of years, and am totally immersed in my new career as a mystery writer. I hope you enjoy the results!

New in Spring 2023! The Elk Ridge Murder Mysteries follow Inspector Hilary Casgrain in a sensational new crime fiction series! It's a spinoff from my most popular books, the Port Alma Murder Mysteries.

The longer Poodle Versus… series is a reader favorite. Small-town action, zany characters, and a Nasty Small Poodle will capture your heart in these cozy mysteries.

The Murder In Season trilogy features injured detective constable Claire Beckett.

During the first night there is a murder. With the storm raging Holly and Danny begin to investigate. Holly is now the only officer officially on duty. DC Holly Towns & Danny Cavalla go for a romantic retreat at Elora Inn. They get snowed in. After a small spat, Holly goes downstairs to spend the night in the library. She awakens to find she’s sharing the room with a dead body. She soon discovers there is no phone or internet service. She is able to text Danny to come down to the library. Instead of a quiet, long weekend away, she & Danny have a murderer to find & they don’t have far to go to search. An enjoyable, quick read!

This novel shows police officers have skills. Technology helps, but the officers operating the technology matter. I hope Holly and Danny get alone time.

DC Holly Towns & her former partner & boyfriend decided to take a romantic weekend. A heavy snow falls leaving all stranded. Holly found a body in the library & they spend their weekend solving the murder. Anne Shillolo is an amazing writer. Her characters come alive & you feel involved in the story. I highly recommend this, the latest in the Holly Towns mystery.

This was a fantastic read. It had great suspense, complex characters, think-on-your feet, and the drama of the story was a great challenge.

This shorter story was interesting, fun, and fits in well with the DC Holly Towns series, furthering the overall story. However, it is a great read alone story, also. I highly recommend it!

DC Holly and boyfriend Danny head to Elora Inn for a romantic weekend getaway. A blizzard arrives about the same time they do. They end up snowed in with a bunch of strangers. Of course, there's a murder their first night at the Inn. Holly immediately notifies her superior but, due to the storm, no one can come to assist with the investigation. It was interesting following them as they conduct interviews and sort out the clues. They learn Homeland Security is on their way so it becomes a contest to see if they can solve the crime before they arrive. If you enjoy solving a case along with the detectives, then you will like this book.

Short but action packed. Holly Towns’ fetish paid off and she was able to identify and capture the bad guy.

This was a great read for a short story. The characters are very believable and the situation they find themselves in, is intriguing. Who wants to get stranded for a weekend with a killer?
Great work by the duo to solve the mystery.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Can’t get a Break

Holly and Danny can’t get a break. A nice romantic weekend away starts with a snowstorm and progresses to a murder! Just when they can actually pursue their romance things go off the rails. Snowed in they have a real closed door mystery!
