Eric the gnome is tasked by the Queen to bring the beasts back to Faeholme, the realm of the magical. It’s really imaginative and well written. I laughed and got teary eyed at one point because of the positive message this book sent (thank you Griff!) Absolutely loved this book, it’s a refreshing story to perk up your day for sure. Emma Meyer is a master storyteller and I’m looking forward to the next book (I’m hoping this will be a series!)

    Enchanted Beasts is an adorable book that teaches children valuable lessons. Eric, a grumpy gnome from Faeholme, is asked by the Queen to go through a portal to the human world and help them believe in magic again. He accepts the task, but then he accidentally opens a portal that lets all kinds of creatures cross over into the human world!

    Now he not only has to help people believe in magic again, he also has to gather up all these creatures and get them back to Faeholme before any trouble ensues! In doing so, he comes across some kids that are having some real dilemmas and he must help them.

    Each chapter in this book has a different story and lesson, but it is written in a very cohesive way. My favorite story was in chapter three, where Suzy is having a hard time with lying. She has become a chronic liar and she can’t stop. One night she sees a purple dragon fly across the sky and tells all her friends about it. They think she is lying.

    Unbeknownst to her, the dragon is real and is allergic to lying. Every time she tells a lie, the dragon gets itchy. The dragon hates lying. Eric has to help her stop lying and appease the dragon’s allergy.

    This book is filled with enchanting stories that will appeal to both adults and kids alike. As a former daycare teacher, I would recommend this book to other teachers that I know.
