About the author

I’m a husband, father, and grandfather who goes for a cemetery run everyday and quotes Marcus Aurelius more often than I should.
I leveraged a five-year contract as head coach at Akimbo Workshops to transition from a 25-year career as a professional guitarist to a new career as a solopreneur cornerman.
Now I help other purpose-driven solopreneurs build a fulfilling and prosperous business on their terms that funds and fits their ideal lifestyle.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2018I've read my share of self-help books looking for what I want to do with my life, starting with What Color Is Your Parachute way back in the day. But I've never come across the unusual questions that Endeavor starts with: - What does it mean to be human? - What does it mean to be happy? - How can I be more of both?
I was surprised to realize that when I took some time to reflect on each of the first two questions, I am already smack in the middle of my life's Endeavor. I realized that when I define what these things mean, I am already being human and being happy. How did this happen? I was certainly not happy in 2017, and I was barely surviving.
Well, I'm lucky: I've been fortunate enough to benefit from some personal guidance from Scott earlier this year. His insightful and persistent questions - just like the ones he asks in this book - propelled me to discover, refine, and pursue my mission over the last several months. But if you can't get personal help from Scott, get this book. It's the next best thing.
So now, months after benefiting from Scott's influence, I find myself being more "human" and more "happy" (by my definition) than I ever have before. And then, asking "how can I be more of both?" was a natural question to help me figure out how to amplify all the things I've started this year. This question alone, I suspect, is going to propel me to further heights in 2019 than I previously dreamed of.
Get this book. It's succinct, universal, and encouraging. Skip the hundreds of pages of exercises and analysis in books like What Color Is My Parachute. You have the answer in you already, and this book will help you uncover it.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2019Looking at a 'something to pursue" as an Endeavor is so fresh. I appreciate the way the author weaves so many elements of life into one's endeavors, showing the reader how to gauge the true value of what they are doing (or think they are doing) to reach goals and aspire to their dreams. From a business owner's view, I feel like I can look at what I"m doing differently. It's more than just a job or a business. It's an endeavor that can be the best thing that happens to me - and others. I recommend this easy to understand book for anyone who wonders what the heck they are doing with their life (and business).
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2018What a lovely book...Tears welled in the last chapter. For anyone who knows that they are here to do work that makes a difference, who believes that there is a purpose to their existence and loves contemplating what that might be... You'll love this book. Perhaps you have found your life's work, but know that you will never be done evaluating and growing and serving... You know who you are. Its not always easy to ask yourself the big questions, and harder yet to find the answers. This book helps :)
- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2018This little book is a gem that will live alongside the likes of The War of Art on a bookshelf for years to come. If you're ready to make a leap into doing work that matters, or already doing so and need a little push, this book is a wonderful musing on the mindset and behaviors it will take to get you there. I'll be referring back to this book again when I am feeling sluggish in my own endeavor, and only wish I had read it sooner in my career!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2019This is the perfect read for when you need a kind, patient, and no-BS coach to give you a loving, supportive kick in the pants. Great for fans of Seth Godin who need to figure out how to get from here to there, this book is a thoughtful and compassionate guide to help you break through excuses and rationalizations to do the work you suspect you might be on this planet to do.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2018I have always been a believer in giving first. In this book, Scott Perry has designed a methodology to make it easy to lead with generosity. Follow his lead to create your own map to living a remarkable fulfilling life of prosperity and meaning through making a difference. So good will definitely be on my list of books to gift to clients and friends.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2018Endeavor is the perfect read for anyone looking for a structure to put around finding their next "thing". Scott has managed to combine familiar concepts with new ideas to provide a clear path to finding work that will engage your mind and your spirit.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2018Scott's straight forward way of explaining key concepts for beginning an Endeavor is spot on. Highly recommend this book to anyone challenged with starting a new venture, project, or endeavor.
It's a quick read and will move you further towards your goal.

5.0 out of 5 stars key mindset & tools for you to succeed at work and in life
I know Scott from the altMBA.
In his book "Endeavor", he provides us many very useful mindsets & tools that will help us thriving in our challenges.
As Scott is a real "doer", you can be sure he tested all of them for himself and that all the content of the book is coming from the field.

Short. To the point. Actionable. Based on Stoic principles. What more could I want from a book? Seriously, a great little book with a simple yet powerful core message: To help yourself... help others!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enedeavours look like this.
Scott Perry brings together many disparate philosophies into a guide that you can use to bring clarity to your next endeavour.
It’s not easy starting a project anew so having a guide like this reminds you of what to consider as you decide on your trajectory.
If you’re looking for a quick start guide on creating meangingful work that’s helps others, start right here.
For Seth Godin’s fans like myself, this is an opportunity for you to fly close to the sun...reading the words of an altMBA coach who is intimately involved in the guidance of others.

5.0 out of 5 stars A compass to navigate through life
This book provides a concise and well written, go-to compass that aids navigation through our lives. It shows us how to go after what we want, and how we might end up with what fits our needs. Also, because our focus is on the value we provide to other people, this distracts us from our internal dialogue that often gets in our way. Scott knows his stuff and communicates with ease. A pleasure to read. Loved it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A truly important read
As someone who has sought reassurance and a path many times before, I was delighted to find Scotts book and discover his magic work about creating a path to your next big thing. There are no maps here, but instead it’s a truly valuable guide to constructing your own compass. Scott's generosity is on display, giving us all tools to live a truly generous life.
