Ever Marked (Shadow Guardians Book 1) Kindle Edition
Everything you thought you knew about Shape-shifters is a lie.
Shape-shifters are Shadow Guardians, ethereal animal spirits who protect humans from darkness. But not all Guardians are good.
When 17-year-old Leila discovers a tattoo-like spiral on her arm, she learns she's been marked to become a Guardian. With fatal animal attacks and missing people on the rise, Leila fears that becoming a Guardian will turn her into a monster.
Leila confides in her supernatural-loving friend, Riley. As they work together to stop her from turning, they must also navigate their growing feelings for each other. But as the details of her mark become clearer, things get complicated—if she doesn’t find the person who scarred her and turn soon, Leila is marked for death.
She must decide: to shift or die.
Combining the folklores of shifters, angels, and werewolves, Ever Marked is "Teen Wolf" meets "The Mortal Instruments", creating a new myth for Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance lovers to sink their teeth into. Buy your copy to start the hunt today.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2019I have been a fan of Elle Scott for a few years now. It all started as a journey out of my comfort zone and into the future. A future that is known as dystopian in the literary world. Normally I wouldn't explore that genre but I figured that I would give it a go. Her first book "Ray of Light" is part of the "Incandescent Series and I signed up for her newsletters which is how I found out about "Ray of Light" and became an instant fan. Her newsletters and her stories are genuine, personable and Ms. Scott always reaches out and responds to her followers/fans.
Flash forward to the present and to her new series Shadow Guardians. Again, I find myself exploring uncharted territories and again, Elle Scott doesn't disappoint. I typically don't follow paranormal stories, but this story intrigued me right from the beginning. The way that she separated her chapters is excellent in that she took the time to let us know the time of day and did so without slowing the story. Her skill at setting in this genre in this story is impeccable. I recently finished my Master's in Writing and found myself appreciating her writing, her skills even more. She not only entertained me and showed me a new world, but her work inspires me and helps me with how I want to write and should. Moving onto the story, we are being told this story from an outside perspective which begs the question -who is watching Leila 'a life unfold. Right from the beginning, we are thrown into the action. 17-year-old Leila discovers a strange glowing mark on her arm but doesn't know how it got there. Her boyfriend and best friend Riley tries to help her on the journey to find out how it got there and who did it. Throughout the story we are led by the narrator along twists and turns trying to find out who marked Leila, why and if she will be a good guardian or a fallen one. The fallen are the ones killing people in the woods and doing other strange things. The story ends as it should but does it really end? On a final note, throughout this story, you will find yourself second guessing the suspects, friends, enemies and yourself.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2019I flew through this book in a day, it was a fast, easy, and super fun read! The humor was quirky and adorable, the plot kept you guessing, and I was pleased to discover that my guesses were wrong! My favorite character would have to be Riley. He’s my sweet cinnamon roll and I was on pins and needles the whole time, wanting everything wonderful to happen to him.
This is a creative take on shapeshifting and yet there’s still some endearing tropes sprinkled in that are very familiar. Fans of Twilight and The Vampire Diaries should love this, and it’s good for a younger teen audience as well!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2019I for one couldn't get enough of this new take on shifters and supernatural lore. Growing up with a mum that's an academic in folklore has never been all that important. Who knew just how ironic her mums work would become to her life? Leila is a typical teen. Crushing on her male BFF Riley, and excited the folks are leaving her big brother Kale and she alone thanks to a conference. How was she to know her entire world would change in an instant? After her brother took her to dinner to meet his mysterious new girlfriend, she suddenly find a mysterious spiral tattoo thing on her arm. Not long after she gets the worst flu of her life that literally puts her in bed for close to a week. All she knows is she DIDN'T get a tattoo on her own accord, and has no clue where it came from. The fact it's started glowing freaks her out that much more! Add to that she's suddenly got crazy energy and strength?? What the heck is going on and how can she hide this from her Brother? People in their community are being killed in its animal attacks, and others at school are turning up with similar tattoos and changes in looks and personality. Have alien 👽 pod people taken over her town? Asking with her close knit group of friends and best friend turned boyfriend, they're out to figure what's going on. I honestly could NOT put this book down!! I read it in one sitting and it left me greedily wanting MORE MORE MORE!!! I've read other books by this author and they never disappoint! I for one can't wait for book two to finally come out 😊🦁♥️
- Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2019Ok, so I have to admit that I'm incredibly disappointed with this book. I've been excited for it ever since I saw the cover reveal and blurb in the newsletter from this author. So when I started it I was almost quivering with excitement and I did enjoy it at first but it slowly started to become a let down and I found myself disliking the main character and the whole book more and more. I really wanted to love this book and I kept finding redeeming qualities, like how the idea if this world is unique perspective and shifting into an animal that's based solely upon each person to the person is quite interesting but there was just so much that I disliked that by the last 25% I was cringing and could only read a couple chapters at a time. I kept going because I couldn't give up then hope that I would fall for it but I was ready to be done well before the end. I couldn't connect to any of the characters and the overall story felt incredibly rushed. There are a few other reasons I didn't like this book, like how much I disliked the tortured love interest, Riley and how bizarre it is that Leilani's dad only has a tiny little moment in the whole book... but I don't want to write paragraphs filled with negativity so I'll just leave it at that.
I won't reread this book and I don't recommend it to anyone I know.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2018I really enjoyed this book. Leila discovers a spiral tattoo and goes on a wild goose chase to find out who put it there. People in her school are disappearing or ending up with the same tattoo, and she is on a time limit to figure things out. If she doesn't get it figured out in time, she may die. This book was fun, interesting, and kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this, the characters were what did it for me
I loved the concept and knew it be something I enjoyed. Firstly, the one thing I loved the most was the characters. Their witty humour and closeness, I was totally invested in them. Also, I just loved the writing style. It was so fluid and the dialogue so genuine.
I sort of guessed the twist at the end, but it didn’t matter as it still excited me.
There are lots of shifter books out, but they all have their elements, just like this one did. Was a little sad to finish the book.
