Exquisitely Yours is the third book in the A Sin City Tale series and is the story of Daniel Xu and Jessica Johnson, who finally get their own book. Jessica is the younger sister, by ten years, of Jake Johnson, who owns and runs the Hotel. Jake is the boyfriend of Sin, the lead singer of Sin City. This story takes place in a couple different time lines but it all comes together. Daniel and Jessica meet backstage at the first concert since Sin was shot by her stalker while the band was playing a concert at Jake's hotel two months before. Daniel is the drummer in the world famous rock band Sin City. He has it all and enjoys all the perks that come with being a bad boy rocker. But he also has a complicated family life in Las Vegas. With a grandmother who has Alzheimer's and a family that takes turns caring for her he is being weighed down. Then add in his best friend and the glue that keeps the band together, Sin, being shot, things are complicated. Daniel and Jess literally run into each other backstage in the dressing room of the band. There are sparks that fly between them immediately. But there is also her brother Jake standing right there and he is not about to let his little sister get anywhere near the "notorious ladies' man", aka Daniel. But that spark is fading fast when Jessica realizes that the spark is not about her but about his "entertaining" another woman in the bathroom. Jessica basically calls him out and embarrasses him, not in front of everyone but it still is hits the mark. She is obviously a young woman who has standards and is not about to fawn all over Daniel just because he is a rock star. But Daniel is intrigued and is one a mission to find Jessica and make her. But does she want to be with him, even though there is amazingly hot chemistry between them.
This series has an overarching story-line of the band and the characters that progresses through each book. So if you have not read the previous books you may be confused at times, but it should not be too bad. I liked both Daniel and Jessica. It was great that she just did not fawn all over him and make it really easy for him. Daniel has to step up a lot and take real responsibility in his life even more than he already has. Together they make a wonderful couple who have a real connection that is deep and soulful, along with toe curling passion.
