The 3rd book in this series by Tricia Copeland and once again she did not disappoint. Queen Titania is the main character of the series and in this book she is in the progress of looking for a suitor and dealing with all the political issues. Titania's character is strong and continues grow with each book. She learns new magic and there is plenty of action.Tricia Copeland's brilliant world building skills continue to amaze me! I absolutely recommend this book and series!

Magnificent stuff. This third book is a fantastic next chapter in this fantastic series.

Titania is probably my favorite YA protagonist in the entire genre. She’s diplomatic and reasonable even while she’s juggling extremely difficult political AND magical situations. She’s relatable and emotional, and the first-person perspective is good because we can see her internal thought processes, but she never sloppily GETS herself into any of the problems she faces just to keep the plot moving. Every problem she faces, I can see where it came from. It’s all so well-built-up-to. I’m constantly finding myself gritting my teeth on her behalf and thinking “that’s so unfair!!! You’re doing your best!!” because she’s THAT easy to root for. It’s so satisfying to watch her make connections with other magical beings and to try new weird and cool magical tricks, it definitely makes this third book continue the “oo, we can discover MORE cool magical moves” trend in the series and keeps things fresh!

All of the other characters, even the more-minor ones, aren’t cookie-cutter or lazily-developed either. There are a LOT of other characters– and all of them have goals that make sense and serve a bigger picture purpose. I also really really appreciate that we have a fantasy world that truly feels like a WORLD. It’s a ton of fun to see the prince fae from other continents talk about their homes, and I loved going with Titania to all the different realms both magical and physical. The maps at the start of the book are helpful to keep track of all the characters – I found myself flipping back to the front of the book once in a while to re-orient myself with where everyone is from, but I didn’t resent doing so.

I think the pacing is excellent too. We get just enough balance of political and romantic problems with the life-or-death magical problems, and I don’t feel like any of these problems overstays their welcome before we can take a breath and focus on something different. There are many suitors who are looking to partner with Titania, but none of it felt like shallow forced-in love-triangle stuff. It’s one of the best setups of ‘many partners, which will she choose’? I’ve seen in YA.

The literal ONLY detail that took me out of the book and made me need to take a little break was that there’s a somewhat-detailed description of a cat’s death around halfway in that was upsetting to me. So heads up if animal death is a problem for you.

But other than that literal one single page, I adored this book and I adored this series. I’ve recommended it to a bunch of friends. Good freakin’ stuff.

I find myself in a bit of undecided territory. These characters seem to be getting more and more complex as the book goes on. I find myself forgetting certain bits of the storyline. I’m not sure if it’s me being short of concentration? A great performance.

I’ve started and restarted this review so many times. This has easily become one of my favorite series. Titania is such an amazing character. After the death of her brothers and her fathers health declining she had to take the throne of her kingdom. She quickly had to grow up and adapt to the life of doing what’s best for Aubren even if it’s not the hats best for her. She discover she has powers that she cannot tell anyone about. She must protect the Fae from threats that could destroy everything.

This particular story focuses on Titania picking a suitor, meanwhile protecting Aubren from a series of attacks that her mother predicted. These attacks are linked to upper earth and she must help them in order to help her people.

This story was such a page turner and I was completely shocked with the ending. Titania is easily one of the most impressive characters I’ve ever read about. The sacrifices she makes for her people, the growth, and the intellect she uses is outstanding. I also love her cousins. They are super supportive. I hope we get more about them. I also hope Titania is able to reconnect with those she cares about, and maybe one day her mother will come out of her state.

Please if you haven’t read this series go to book one and start there. You won’t be disappointed.

The first book in this series is the first book that really got me hooked on reading about the fae worlds. I loved learning about the worlds, the rules and laws, the description of the fae, and the magical elements. This is the third book in the series and it did not disappoint! It starts out in an amazing kingdom that is described in amazing detail - the ocean, the castles, the decor in the homes, and more. Titania is the main character and the first queen of her kingdom, this makes it difficult for her to work with the other kings who do not believe in her ability to rule. She is 17 and her father is accepting meetings so that she can start courting. By the end of the first main event, she has four princes that she has accepted and will begin courting. She is taking a rest and enjoys time with her family, but she is also worrying about the human realm and danger of the omen of three evils. Titania meets with Hunter and his group in the human realm and one of them made a comment about her name sounding like titanium, I had not made that connection and had been reading it incorrectly. This book was fast paced and full of adventure. It kept me up reading late and I truly enjoyed this entire series!
