Faking Christmas Love at the Doggy Spa: A Sweet Romantic Comedy (Finding Love at the Doggy Spa) Kindle Edition
This holiday season, join the fur-filled romance of 'Faking Christmas Love at the Doggy Spa,' where the only thing more irresistible than puppy eyes is Dr. Chamberlain!
It's Christmastime. No time for playing around with romance. I’m a woman working my way up in the corporate world!
The only man in my life is Cornelius. My sausage dog. He goes with me everywhere, which really means that I accompany him everywhere.
Including to the vet, Dr. Chamberlain.
About Dr. Chamberlain… If ever there was a rugged dog lover hunk of man that just might make me change my mind about Christmas love, it would be him.
I don’t have time. Or patience. Or the right disposition for romance.
I'm an event manager and I’ve got parties coming out of my ears. Events where I’m supposed to bring a plus one… and Cornelius doesn't count.
But Dr. Chamberlain is a perfect fake date. If I look at him with longing eyes, that’s all just part of the plan, right?
That fluttering in my stomach must be from all the Christmas candy. It better not be feelings for the vet.
Cornelius, do not bite Santa! I’ll give you a treat…
Faking Christmas Love at the Doggy Spa is a quick read that will warm your heart with giggles this season. Because puppy love and puppies are one of the world’s greatest combinations!
Start the series with this novella and come to love the antics of Tom, Claire, and four-legged Cornelius!
**All books in this series are standalone with characters who weave through the stories. They can be read in any order. Happy reading!**

- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2023Cute Christmas story of Claire and a handsome veterinarian, Dr Tom Chamberlain, agreeing to fake date for Christmas gatherings they are obligated to attend with a plus one. Will they be successful in not falling for each other in the process?
- Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2023This is the first work of the author's that I've read & it won't be the last. It it part of the Finding Love at the Doggy Spa Series (kind of like a prequel) but is a standalone. The title & synopsis let you know what to expect. It's a good & short fake dating dual pov holiday romance. Claire is ambitious & work driven. While Tom also cares about his work, he's less blunt & easy going than she is. So, they realize they are a perfect match for what the other needs. Because it's a fake dating novella, the romance develops fast & I would've liked to see more of it. It is a clean romance. There wasn't heavy drama so this is a good read for those in the mood for a quick holiday read, & especially those who love dogs.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2023This was suggested to me today, I read it-- it is really shorter than a novella, but longer than a novelette, and is a "fish out of water" type of story, but one where both of the fish are equally out of the water. That is a tough nut to crack, but the author more or less carried it off.
It is really a trade-off, and a challenge as to which person will step forward to make "it work" for them. Unfortunately "the end" came with an offer to get the real ending by signing up for an email list, and my response is to turn around and walk away. Yes, authors need more readers, but I feel it is a dishonest way of trying to build a reader base, so I guess I actually got the first half of the story but will not be getting the rest of it.
It was good, it was entertaining, but it was not complete. Even so, it was three and a half or four stars worth telling the story without being pompous or overbearing, or even worse, discarding clothes to avoid dealing with the relationship changing.
It was good, four out of five stars, but it was incomplete and I shall simply walk away. It needed more time and more emotional depth, and reconciliation of the two careers, but what it did it did well.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2022A short-but-sweet story of the old "fake relationship for the job/family, etc." trope, but with truly likable main characters, and a cute "sausage dog." Event-planner Claire and Dr. Tom Chamberlain (the handsome vet at the Doggy Spa) are apparently a mismatched pair, but it turns out that Tom is shy with a hidden layer of confidence that being with Claire brings out in him, and Claire - who is known as a "man-eater," is apparently supremely confident, but with a sweet layer of shyness whenever she's around Tom. What I really like is that though there is the obligatory misunderstanding, Claire is intelligent enough to see through it to the truth (- with a little help from Mrs. Claus, because this is a Christmas story, after all;-)
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2024This is a fun and lighthearted story of fake girlfriend and fake boyfriend. Add some cute dogs and their (ahem) “unique” owners and the book gets even better. One mustn’t forget the eccentric guests at the Christmas soirée; what a great field for repartee. With humor throughout this book, I am glad I read it!
