Can two men fake an engagement for the greater good?

Avery Kinkaid has been bowing to his father's will far too long. But when his dad supports anti-LGBTQ legislation, he's had enough. Sen. Kinkaid says things would be different if Avery had a fiancé in the wings. Well, fine: He'll just have to get one.

Rory Fisher is an activist with a heart of gold and nerves of steel. He's not afraid to call Avery on his BS, and that's why Avery knows Rory is the perfect fake fiancé to help him take a stand. If he still feels a little too much for his ex, well, he can shove that down and suck it up to beat his dad at his own game.

Until Rory encourages his most hidden desires. Until he makes Avery feel stronger, braver, and freer than he's ever been.

Loving Rory is easy, but Avery's father won't just sit back and let them have their happily ever after. They will have to fight: for their love, for justice, for a future together.

This is one power struggle they can't afford to lose.

Second chance

The story was a little diluted for me, I think Avery took a little too long to stand up for himself It just felt drawn out and exaggerated. But the rest of the story was great I enjoyed listening to it.

Wyatt baker did an excellent job on the voice's I would definitely listen to him again and again.

Faking a Groom

Fairly good story. The narration is pretty typical for an audiobook.
Glad everything ended happily. It was nice to see some cameo appearances from Caleb and Julien.
I recommend if you’ve read and liked the other books in the series or are curious about this one.

I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author via Neon Rainbow ARC reviews and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Great story

Ahhh starting this listen and getting to know Avery and then Rory makes me so sad for what they had and lost. This is one of those stories you sit and cheer for the characters and are frustrated and angry with others in the story. Seeing all that they have to go through and face it makes it feel super realistic and sad that things like this happen in real life. I enjoyed this audio and am looking into more from this author. I recommend and would like to read more from the series.

A sweet fake relationship/second chance romance

This was a fun fake relationship romance set fictionally in my home state of Maine, which I loved!

When Avery’s political father backs a bill that will take some rights away from the LGBTQ community, he scrambles to find a way to make his father see reason. Avery is gay and has come out to his father, but he hasn’t gone public with the truth yet for fear that it will affect his father’s career (and change things for him as well).

Rory was Avery’s college boyfriend, but the relationship sadly ended when Avery refused to come out and wanted to keep the relationship a secret... but the feelings the two share for each other have never truly gone away.

Avery and Rory will fake an engagement, hopefully strong handing Avery’s father to pull out from this new bill and gaining donors for a benefit that Rory has upcoming. Problem solved!!

This is a second chance romance, which I loved. It deals with a lot of homophobia, both external and internal. Avery has to come to terms with who he really is as a person and learn to be able to be comfortable in his own skin with the truth finally out.

Thank you so much to the author and Neon Rainbow for by gifted audio copy of this book. The narration was wonderful and breathed life into these wonderful characters.

Beautiful!! Fantastic story and narration!!

Avery is the son of a rich senator who has manipulating him to remain closeted. When legislation is brought to his attention that would harm his chances at a future for happiness, he decides to fake a proposal. He asks Rory to marry him. Rory was once Avery’s closeted boyfriend/hook up from their boarding school days. Rory couldn’t accept being put into the closet, so he broke up with Avery. Forced proximity is always one of my favorite troupes. Avery has secrets and is scared for them to come out. I loved how we got to return to Bliss Island and see how Caleb and Julien are doing. This was a beautifully written story about love and redemption. Wyatt Baker really brought this story alive, he did an exceptional job!!

Controlling Father

I fell in love with this story from the first chapter. DJ Jamison is a skilled story teller and with this story, number three in the series, I wasn’t disappointed. Rory and Avery knew each other from boarding school and after graduation they lost track of each other. After years apart, at a chance meeting, they discovered they still felt that connection. Avery’s father is in politics and is ashamed to let his son be himself. Avery must at all times be discreet. The narrator does a great job! I plan on listening to his voice (looking him up) in the future. Great book and listen. Enjoy!

packed with Emotion

Faking A Groom by DJ Jamison is the third book in the Marital Bliss series.  This is a second chance lovestory packed with emotion,  tension, frustration, and steam.  It is about finally reclaiming lost love, finally standing up for yourself and gaining a freedom you only dreamt of, and grabbing tgevreigns of your own future.  The characters are relatable, likeable and have fantastic chemistry, the story evolves so wonderfully.
The story is well written.  I love the fact we get to hear from both characters and understand each of them better in their own words and actions.
Wyatt Baker narrates the book and does a fantastic job with the performance.  Fantastic experience.
