Family Like This (Friends Like This Book 7) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 79 ratings

I had a plan:

Live my life.

Find my person.

Build a future together.

Then Amelia Davis walked into my life and I went from never the same girl twice to absolutely gone for her. But before we could make it official, we became three.

Now we’re trying to navigate becoming parents before being a couple, and I’m trying to stay in control and keep my anxiety from taking over.

Amelia is the girl of my dreams, but between pregnancy and the trauma of her past, it’s a constant fight to get her to trust me, let me in, and believe in the future I know we can have.

I knew when I found love I’d do anything to keep it safe and make it last. Though I’m learning that’s harder than I thought it would be, there’s nothing that will stop me from giving Amelia the love she deserves and building a beautiful family with her and our baby—not even the walls surrounding Amelia’s bruised heart.

Family Like This is the seventh book in the Friends Like This series and the first book featuring Miles and Amelia’s love story. Though it is a new love story, book seven is a direct continuation of the first six books. If you haven’t read them yet, head back to the beginning and jump on the roller coaster in Friends Like This.

Bethany is a small-town girl and lover of all things romance, love, and happily ever afters. She is an indie author of both adult contemporary romance series and new adult drama series set in small towns. She loves taking her characters (and readers!) on an emotional rollercoaster throughout the story whether it’s a standalone romance or a continuous series. Even though she puts her characters through their paces, she always leaves them with a happily ever after, knowing they rode off into the sunset with a good life and their perfect match by their side.

She is shamelessly obsessed with the friends-to-lovers trope and will read any friends-to-lovers book she can get her hands on while writing plenty more. When she’s not writing, you can find her mom-ing, binge-reading, drinking coffee and pretending the laundry doesn’t exist, eating sushi with her SIL, and cheering on all her author pals.

Bethany lives in the Southern Tier of NY with her husband and two sons. You can find out more about Bethany and what she’s working on next on Instagram @bethanymonacosmith

Miles is amazing

Miles is amazing
- Surprise pregnancy - New relationship Part of the Friends Like This series, this book picks up at the end of book six when Miles finds out that Amelia is pregnant. Miles is the sweetest and most supportive person ever. I swooned over and over while reading this. Although Miles struggles with anxiety, he shows up big time. He is all in...even though Amelia is not ready to commit to a relationship. Amelia has a lot of trust issues and doesn't have a family support system, so having all of Miles's friends accept her is hard for her to comprehend. I loved, loved this book and this series is one of my favorites.

Just when you think a series isn’t going to hit harder on your heart…Bethany comes along and rips it to pieces just to prove to you that it’s not over! My gosh!

Miles has been there for everyone else in his life, always shoving down the worst parts of his own struggles with anxiety. When the “invisible” friend comes sweeping into his life, and he ends up a dad to be - how will he possibly cope with falling in love, a baby, and anxiety all at once? How do you not spiral when you feel like your own castle is crumbling?

Amelia…gosh Amelia. I could feel so much of myself in her at different points of the story. She’s a bit of a mess in and of herself. She doesn’t “need” or want to fall in love. Easy peasy is her normal route…but ending up pregnant wasn’t part of it all being easy. You entwine that with losing a parent completely, and feeling like you’ve already lost your other parent who’s physically there, but not always mentally there…and realizing you’re falling in love…and it’s the perfect storm.

I could quite literally gush about this book, but I’d also end up giving so much away. If you even contemplated continuing this series after Aaron, Rae, Joel and Sarah’s stories…then without a doubt, keep going. This one hits so differently on the mental health aspects, and in such a respectful way, that…agh my heart is pounding just waiting for the next part.

“Loss is lonely, but it is not solitary. Everyone experiences it at some point, and while I wish that somehow made it easier to bear, it doesn’t really, it just makes it more normal to live through.”

This book was so good! I love the way it was written! Miles and Amelia aren’t my favorite people, but I absolutely loved their first part of their story! Thank you so much for the arc! I’m curious where the next one will go! I’m not ready for this series to end. 😭

I loved this book! Miles has been one of my babies for a while and reading as he falls and falls hard for not one but two (the baby has him wrapped already). I am so thankful to be able to stay in this world as long as I have because it is one of my favorites. Amilia may be new but she fits in perfectly. I am excited to see where the future takes them!

    Miles & Amelia 💛

Surprise pregnancy! While most people are iffy on this trope I absolutely love it! Throw in Bethany and I'm head over heels! Iykyk 😉

As much as I loved Aaron. And Joel is my forever book boyfriend! I new Miles' story was going to be good. I remember saying to Bethany I can't wait for his book because when he gets hit with the Love bug it's going to hot him hard! And boy does it ever! It completely flips everything. And I'm absolutely here for it.

I love everything about this book, even the hard parts because by now being book 7 in the series we all know Bethany is going to put these characters THROUGH it before she heals them and gives them their HEA. And that's what I love most their growth! So I can't wait for book 8!

This book hard the hard stuff, I love the Mental health rep for both the anxiety and the Alzheimer’s. Another favorite thing about Bethanys books is that mental health plays such a big part in her characters. It's something that I feel isnt talked enough about. As someone who struggles with their mental health I love that these books are relatable. Even if these characters are 10+ years younger I can relate to their struggles!

Amelia is fiesty as hell and is dealing with a lot of unresolved issues as well as being pregnant. She's a tsunami of emotions. But God to I love her. Because underneathe you can see the beautiful badass shes going to bloom into! While Miles is next level book boyfriend material he has his own anxieties to work through. And while he thinks that he's got it all figured out, he's learning he can't control everything.

It's raw, it's an emotional rollercoaster (like always), it's spicy and swoony! & boy does Miles have a dirty mouth! It's always the quiet ones! 🥵 can not wait for Full Daddy Miles in the next book! 🙌

I knew this was going to be good before I even read the 1st chapter! After watching and witnessing everyone around him fall in love, Miles finally meets his match.
The surprise pregnancy announcement was expected, but how the characters dealt with the news wasn’t. The struggles and emotional aspect of the book will hit you hard in some chapters. You’ll be jumping for joy one minute, then crying your eyes out the next. Any book that can torture your soul like that is worth the read.

Miles is the perfect book boyfriend ever!!! You all are going to fall for him, fast and hard as he falls for Amelia and their baby. Some of my favorite tropes are in this book and for me makes everything better, friends to lovers and surprise pregnancy. Daddy Miles is just perfection in a character. I fell in love with him in chapter 1!!!! I loved Miles before this book, because he is an amazing friend to everyone, specially Rae and Mackie but now? Getting to know him more is absolutely amazing. He is everything and more. The fifth member of the OG is falling in love finally. Amelia is his perfect half. Together they are fire, explosion, in the best possible way. They are amazing as couple. This is definitely an emotional book. I was really mad in some chapters but them in others I was sobbing, literally sobbing and reading. You are going to cry, so be prepared to read this with tissues, lots of tissues (it’s true!!!) and you are going to swoon in every chapter. Gosh it was awful and beautiful at the same time. Be prepared for another cliffhanger, not Bethany’s worst cliffhanger but hey, it’s a cliffhanger so… I can’t wait to read the next book and their HEA!!!! PS. Still loving Aaron Freaking Cooper so much!!!
