About the author

USA Today Bestselling author
Carolyn's Website at http://CarolynDeanBooks.com
I've been writing and making stories in my head as early as I can remember. In third grade I came home, set my lunchbox down, and told my mother I wanted to be a writer. Luckily, Mom was supportive.
I've been a published author for a while now, under different names and genres, but the thought of writing about a small coastal town in Oregon, and about its loves and mysteries and holidays and people has been with me for years. To be honest, I am a bit scared to dump those ideas onto the written page, but hope you'll enjoy getting to meet the people who inhabit my imagination.
In real life, I'm married with kids, live on the West Coast of the US, and own a hobby farm just outside of my favorite small town. I love to travel, and can often be found strolling down a windy Oregon beach, holding onto the string of a high-sailing dragon kite.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2024I so enjoyed this book. Short and anything but sweet. Edwina Windwood (Eaton), a rather wealthy young lady wants to start her own detective agency. But, it seems that her wealthy parents don’t want her to do such a thing. After she solves a Diamond theft, gets her name in the paper, her parents threaten to pull their financial support. Undeterred Edwina continues her trade, and is hired to find out who is blackmailing an aging actress. All is unclear as the actress isn’t willing to tell all. So, Edwina charges ahead toward solving the crime.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2019The Mystery was good. But the historical accuracy was very questionable. The Moscow Mule was invented in 1941. Prison tattoos in the United States were rare until the 1930s. Those are just two Of the questionable references I looked up in about five minutes. So much of reading a historical mystery for me is I just scription of the time and that was lacking in this book as were in a twist in the plot. I will read the nextIn the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2022Book 1 of a new character of Miss Carolyn's. Took me awhile to catch the rhythm of this story. Once I did I enjoyed the ride. Can't wait to read the next adventure.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2020It started very interestingly... but maybe because it's the first book there's a lot of filler..i mean just rattles on and on. I will read the next one to see if it improves. Author should stick more to the main topic but she drifts off into a lot of unnecessary descriptions.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2019Edwina Winterwood, high society, but known for racing cars and fixing them. She also solved a really big jewelry heist and since then has been trying to pick up more puzzled to solve.
Read and enjoy.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2020Confused at end of book. No hints as to motive. All of a sudden all is revealed without any build up. Poof Edwina figures it out. Everyone is clueless including Edwina until last few pages.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2020This is a fun one. Edwina promises to be an intelligent and interesting leading lady. The story was quite good! Left me excited for the next book
