Fatal Cargo: Solomon Stone 3 (Solomon Stone Thrillers) Kindle Edition
Shadow agent turned Good Samaritan
Killing time between missions, Solomon Stone finds himself coming to the rescue of a desperate girl. A simple plea draws Stone into a dark world where everything is available for a price. Before long, there's a price on Stone's head as underworld characters track him down, but Stone has a knack for killing.Balancing a Good Samaritan role with an elimination mission, he moves between safe houses, offering personal security to a girl called Alexis whilst tracking down unsavoury individuals, remembering at all times that he has to remain off grid. A certain someone is always watching, though: George Ingram. Ingram is Stone's point of contact in an organisation known only as SALVO, an apt name for the situation at hand: salvation with a touch of retribution.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2023This series has been really great to read. I was provided this one as one to review, but rest assured that anything I say is the honest truth.
The world building in this series is extremely consistent which isn’t common in series with this type of plot. Normally there’s plot holes where missions occur. I was skeptical going into this one when I realized Stone was going a little rogue, but he really pulled through! I also like the humor and confidence he starts to show in his role in the organization in this book.
The bit of off page romance with him and Drummer is nice, too. It lets him have that bit of humanity and connection he had to give up. Considering she’s had to give it up too, it’s a nice reprieve for both of them.
I want to know more about the illusive George Ingram! I need to know how he got involved with the organization and what exactly his role his. But my curiosity about that doesn’t stem from plot holes, just wanting to know more.
These are truly great reads, and I can’t wait to read the next one.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2023This is part of the Solomon Stone series. Stone is drawn to help a young woman who is pleading for help. As he investigates he finds himself drawn into a world of money laundering, people trafficking and favor marketing. It's a gritty underworld run by a privileged few and and Stone is determined to expose it all. This is a gritty suspense thriller which follows the workings of organized crime.

5.0 out of 5 stars An exceptional read - gripping throughout, and highly recommended
This is the third book to feature Solomon Stone, who can be thought of as a sort of lower class version of James Bond working for a secret organisation in the UK. A lethal assassin and highly trained spy, he has to deal with people who appear to be above the law and that requires an organisation and operatives who are also effectively above the law.
In this book Solomon ignores his standing instructions and gets involved with what appears a simple case of a young lady being attacked by criminals. Pretty soon it becomes clear that there may be more to it, but what?
The story is gripping, realistic as far as any such story could be, and quite difficult to put down.
To be absolutely clear I actually paid for this book personally, so that should tell you something! I am definitely looking forward to the next installment...
