Accused of murder. Who framed Katie?

Katie is busy enough as a single mom with a series of dead-end jobs. She barely has time for her passion-paper crafting.

But when one of her housecleaning clients turns up dead, stabbed with a paper crafting tool, Katie is in trouble.

She has her own ideas about who the real murderer is, but the lead inspector won't listen.

Can she dig up evidence before another victim drops dead? Or will she take the fall for a crime she didn't commit?

This was a cute mystery. It took me a long time to finish as it seemed slow in some parts. I had hoped for a more complete ending but see that it's the first in a series so suppose that might hook some people on reading the next book. Personally, I won't be getting the next book. This was my first cozy book so it could just be that I'm used to more depth & length in books. Overall, though, it was a decent read.

I received this book as an Arc from the author and I’m writing a review because I want to. This a cozy to relax with. It’s a small town and a single mom cleans houses and work part-time at the police station. When one of her clients is murdered, she’s swept up in the investigation. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read another book by this author. Katie is a smart woman and proved that she should have been a detective instead of just a clerk. Jack was at least smart enough to ask for her help, which was more than be could hope for. This book is very much for the people who like a good suspense book.

Katie works part time in a Police Station in England. Also cleans homes part time to make ends meet. There’s a murder of a Lady she cleans for regularly. Then she manages to get real involved in the investigation and boy did it get really interesting in little Sunnyvale! Was fun reading and trying to put the clues together along with Katie!

This is the first book in a series but can also be stand alone too. Meet Katie: Mom, police clerk, house cleaner, sleuth, divorcee'. Katie gets involved with a murder and tries to help the new lead detective solve it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The epitome of a good cozy mystery
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 8, 2018
If you like a good cozy mystery, this is as good as it gets. The heroine has lots of her own problems, including being one of the suspects, but manages to use her intuition and sleuthing skills to work out the finer details of why the murderer had to do it. There are some very realistic scenes with her 10 year old daughter which make you grin with recognition. There's lots of gossip and local politics, which nicely put you off the scent. Plus there is the slow simmering of a romance. It never gets to the boil but it makes you want to read the next book to see what happens, 'cos you just know it's got to happen one day.

I was very pleasantly surprised as this book, I received it as a ARC reader, when I saw the title I thought hum! But, I really enjoyed it at times I felt that our heroine needed to keep her nose out of police business, but how wrong could I have been, she plodded along slowly trying to piece bits together, you sometimes felt that the police were not sure where they could go next, but as murder's go it all came together eventually. I am looking forward to the next book,to be able to see the character's grow. Will not say anymore. Do read this book if you like a murder that is not gruesome. Nice soft cozy book.well worth 5 stars.
