The Firefighter's Fate: (Crystal River Billionaire Brothers #5) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 29 ratings

The grumpy loner firefighter and the journalist who is determined to squeeze an interview out of him.

CONNOR
I've given up on my billionaire family.
Especially my father, and his demanding expectations of me.
I want to live my life. On my own terms.
I just want to be a firefighter in my small hometown, doing what I love.
People might think I'm abrasive or mean. I don't care.
I am perfectly fine with my life...
Until
she bursts into my world with her unstoppable, enthusiastic persistence.
She wants to talk to me, but
what for?

EMBER
Connor Penmayne is a grumpy interview subject, that's for sure.
He's arrogant, rude, and, worst of all,
grumpy.
I'd like to think I'm the complete opposite.
I like to be happy. I like to be a ray of sunshine.
But his super-rich father wants me to reconnect Connor to his family.
In the form of a flattering newspaper article.
Well, I
am a journalist. I need work.
And I won't turn down the opportunity to flirt with a big, strong firefighter.
But... does it have to be
this firefighter?

The Firefighter's Fate is a steamy standalone in the Crystal River Billionaire Brothers Series.
Recommended for mature audiences.

Such a charming book about two totally different people who fall in love. Ember is an investigative reporter who gets sent on a job to interview Connor. Connor is a firefighter who has left his riches behind him. Someone almost loses their life and they admit their feelings.

This is the 5th book in the Crystal River Billionaire Brothers series featuring the entertaining billionaire, firefighter, grumpy/sunshine, small-town romance between Connor and Ember. Connor comes from a very privileged family and he wants no part of his father's expectations for him. Connor just wants to live his own life on his terms doing what he loves and that's being a firefighter in his hometown. Ember is a journalist who is always looking for a story and Connor's wealthy father wants her to write a favorable article in the newspaper about him. The article would be complimentary to Connor and be used as a bridge to reconnect him with his wealthy family. Connor doesn't understand why Ember wants to talk to him and Ember can't believe how rude and grumpy Connor is but she still flirts with him. The sparks that fly between them are red HOT and the banter between the two only adds to their chemistry! I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this entertaining billionaire, firefighter, grumpy/sunshine, small-town romance to see what happens.

This was unexpected. An investigative journalist named Ember is sent by her illusive and all-powerful boss to write an article… on his estranged son, a firefighter in a small town. Connor is a grumpy, reclusive man of few words… who is really more like a burnt marshmallow. Hard and gloomy on the outside but gooey in the center.

Ember always stops at nothing to get her story, but in this one she gets more than she bargains for. Connor and Ember’s relationship is inevitable. The speed goes from slow burn to inferno rapidly. There’s some danger and suspense. I really enjoyed it, but would have liked more of an emotional connection between the two.

I've read several books written by Rebecca Castle; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the fifth book in the Crystal River Billionaire Brother’s Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Ember & Connor.

Ember is a journalist tasked with getting the story of a firefighter who left behind the riches of his family. Connor is content with his small-town life and putting out fires, although he is known for being a grump. Ember and Connor have a connection, but the nature of their careers put them at odds with each other making their budding relationship a bit tumultuous at first.
