Reading this book broke me into a million pieces, and I still haven’t put myself back together. To read what Waverly went through and how she managed to stay alive is mind-blowing. She had to lock Wave away and become a woman she knew would get her through the darkest moments of her life. That day, Doxy was born. After years of abuse, she finally found a way out and took it, with the help of the father’s son. Treyvante didn’t like how his father did things, so he helped Doxy escape and promised her she would get her revenge. And believe me, she did. With her two men—yes, I say two men—by her side, Doxy was able to get her payback. With the help of her best friend, Lakeland, Waverly was able to come back and live a happy life. Samantha truly outdid herself with this book. She made the FMC look like a damsel in distress on the outside, but on the inside lived a warrior. That is what she is. I couldn’t put this book down to save my life. I was so into it. I love how Samantha can make her readers feel what is happening in the books she writes. This book is a legend waiting to happen.     Oh this story tore me apart. I have to say this is one of the earnest stories from Samantha that I have read. Does it have trigger warnings, yes. The are not a menu. Check them, think about them and then proceed if you will. The trama that Waverly went through was unimaginable. But to see xander and Trey take care of her and give her what she needs to heal is beautiful. To read the connection between Wave and Lake leaves you urning. This is book 2 in the series and you have to read book one.

    This book was so tragic but it was beautiful.

    Waverly & Doxy are the parts that make up this beautifully broken girl. She managed to survive the most unthinkable injustices. She may be broken and numb but one thing is for sure the men responsible will get what they deserve.
