Girl Obsessed: Reader-Stalking-Writer Romance Kindle Edition
I fell in love with his mind. The way he weaved words like magic and enslaved every part of my soul. My life had been tortured and meaningless until the day I stumbled upon one of his novels and found myself devouring it. And when I found out who he was, passion unlike anything else tore through me, making me come alive for the first time in years.
Suddenly, his words on paper weren't enough. I wanted to know more. I wanted to know his real name, what he liked for breakfast, how he looked when he slept, what his favourite scent was. Everything. I wanted to know everything.
My obsession would cost me. I knew that. But I couldn't stop. There was a thin line between reality and madness. And I was very close to crossing it with him.

There are books that make me tear up. Then, there are books that make me ugly cry. This is one of those books. I practically choked on my sobs and had to put my phone down a couple of times. I didn’t expect this at all!
“Girl Obsessed” is the first book I've read from Zee Shine Storm, and what a rollercoaster it was. It was a test of my morality. I didn't know whether it was okay to empathize and wish for Wynter’s happy ending based on what she'd gone through, or if I should want a more bittersweet ending based on how far her obsession with Jude took her. However, the way the other characters were written in this book makes it seem like what she'd done was nothing and I thought it was interesting to see the contrast. Zee will make you hate [most of] them so much, you can’t help but want to protect Wynter. It definitely played a part in my inner turmoil.
Jude was a prevalent calm to the other male characters that are introduced. With his beautiful prose, he was Wynter’s saving grace, but even those we idolize aren’t as perfect as we make them out to be in our heads. We’re all human after all, and once you dig deep down into Jude’s darkness, you’ll be hit with the reality of it.
This author kept me guessing throughout this book. My heart would palpitate, waiting to see what Wynter would do in times of jealousy. I was also anxious for when her secret would be revealed and all hell broke loose. I couldn't even tell the fate of this couple, whether they would have a happy ending or not. The passion between them was beautiful and intoxicating. So much so that there’s a fine line between right and wrong, but you can’t help but wish for their happily ever after. I won’t spoil it, but I'll just say that it was perfectly written and you won’t see it coming!
This story has definitely left an imprint on me. I'm so excited to read more from this author!
[This took so long to write, and I still feel that it doesn’t capture everything I loved about this book 😭]
- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2021This was a totally new to me author but I came across this book and was drawn to blurb and decided to read it. In the end I'm happy I read it and I liked it. I think I went into with certain expectations and ended up a bit unsatisfied. I thought that while this book was darkish, it was far far from the darkest book I have every enjoyed. That does not mean that there are no possible triggers or content that will be too much for some readers because there definitively are. I liked the storyline. It grabbed me and kept my attention well. I loved the age gap trope and Wynter (my heart broke for her). Jude, I'll be honest wasn't my favorite. While I could forgive his flaws, his wishy-washiness bugged me and was a huge turnoff. This is my frank, freely posted review.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2023Love how this one has a female stalk€r 😱😈 I mean us ladies can be cr@zy possessive too🤣🤣
Story: Wynter is 18 and is dealing with bad, worse, and even worse things happening to her. Girl can not catch a break!😤 But she happens to find a book that completely consumes her and is able to take her mind away from all the bad. Our girl becomes obsessed and must find out every thing about the author of the book. And so our stalking begins 😏😈
I really enjoyed the book. Had enough angst to keep me going from start to end.
Spicy is spicing😄 with more rough play than k!nk but still good🔥
Rating: 5/5 🕵️♀️🕵️♀️🕵️♀️🕵️♀️🕵️♀️
- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2021This book has all kinds of cringe worthy moments from Wynter’s mother’s disgusting boyfriend, her pervy friend, and awful mother to her developing this crazy obsession with her favorite author. While this story is Wynter and Jude’s love story I really think this is Wynter’s story. You see her grow throughout the entire book embracing who she is and what she wants while also trying to deal with trauma she endured in her past. This definitely not your typically romance but I loved how one person obsession turned into two peoples obsession of each other.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it
This book blew me away. The characters are well written and were so interesting to get into the minds of. Wynter is so strong and brave yet also fragile and vulnerable. Jude is also a contradiction of intelligent and successful yet also vulnerable. The women in his life have taken advantage of this and I love Wynter's protectiveness of Jude. I loved their chemistry but mind and body and just am in love with this pair. This book also explores the social media environment today and societies often conflicting ideals. Absolutely loved this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing like all the other works of Z.S.S.
I made the "mistake" to start 'Girl Obsessed' in the morning and I couldn't stop... and I cooked and cleaned and vacuumed while reading (takes twice the amount the time to finish all the work, if someone is curious).
Fell in love with the two leads and the flow of the events even if my heart dropped few times along the pages.
Great plot and loved the fact I couldn't predict the ending in the middle of the book.
Definitely a must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Confronting start to a sweet end.
A book that has me twisting and turning. What you think the characters are going to feel and be in the beginning turn into something unexpected. What should be a troubled character turns shy and sweet and a character who appears strong and together has hidden demons that rule their life. Once I got to chapter 4 I couldn't put it down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved!
Zee Shine Storm is a new to me author. I found her writing to be very good, the story compelling, and I was fully engaged throughout.
Classed as a dark romance...personally, I didn't find it very dark. But I read the pitch black stuff, so... 😁 On a scale of 1-10, I'd put the darkness level at about a 3. (10 being the darkest). I'd say this was safe for anyone who was unsure about trying it.
I very much enjoyed this. With stalkerish themes, a bit of a forbidden storyline, that pinch of darkness, an age gap romance + a bit of a thriller feeling - it was definitely a page turner, and I'll be looking forward to discovering more of the author's work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous
Salvation. This, is what makes a book, in both ways, whether for the reader who needs to take refuge from the pains of real life, or the author, who needs to give vent to all yearning, all voracity, all intensity. Their link is the book, the best of instruments to change pain into love. Wynnie loves Jude so much, you just feel it, and of course, Jude loves the love that Wynnie feels for him so much... as a consequence... there isn't way that Jude doesn't love Wynnie back. Wonderful book, sexy, tense, amazing characters. Loved it.
