    Sterling and Adair seem to be always at odds with each other due to some gigantic misunderstanding but they’re like fire and ice but magnets pulling at each other at the same time.

    From book 1 we see their lives are filled with secrets and half truths, enough to destroy the love they have for each other but as Geneva takes us back to a glimpse of their past and the undeniable chemistry in the present, there’s no denying it’s possible they can withstand the storm. Some secrets are revealed, there’s danger lurking in the shadows and Malcolm has shown his true nature but hold on to your seats. Adair and Sterling are hotter and steamier than ever, ready to take the next steps but not so fast. There are more secrets to be revealed, scores to settle and it all seems to be closing in all at the same time.     Wow, just wow!!! Backlash is book 2 in The Rivals series and Geneva Lee kept me on the edge of my seat from page 1!! I hated having to adult because I just wanted to keep reading and get the answers to all the secrets be kept!!! This book is once again an example of writing brilliance!!

    Backlash pickup where we left off with Adair heartbroken and leaving Sterling. Gah!! I just love these two!! They still have this push and pull thing going on. This love/hate. This intense and hot AF chemistry, like fan myself hot sexy times chemistry, but there is more to them. There is a sense of fitting each other, this sense that they are truly destined to be together.

    Geneva Lee brilliantly takes us back and forth between the past, 5 years ago, and the present, revealing some secrets, but oh boy there are still so many!!! I'm dying to know all the things!!!

    Geneva is the queen of cliffhangers, and this one did not disappoint. Picking up where Blacklist left off, and answering some questions, but leaving us with more, it was a page turner. We learn more about Sterling and Adair’s relationship, past and present! The switching from past to present gets frustrating at times, but I know it is the winding road we have to take to get us all the way through their story! Sterling and Adair's story sucks you in, and is a wild ride of ups and downs. I am looking forward to the epic conclusion in Bombshell, and finally knowing ALL the secrets! I am ready for Sterling and Adair’s happily ever after...they deserve it!

    Sterling and Adair's relationship has more ups and downs and twists and turns than a rollercoaster. Mistrust and miscommunication seems to be the bywords between these two. The flashbacks tell us more about the couple's initial relationship, his tragic abuse ridden past and more of Adair's screwed up family life. In the present, Adair tries to assert her independence and stand on her own two feet. She also wants answers from Sterling about the five years he was gone and why he came back. He warns that she may not like what she hears.

    I couldn't wait for Backlash to come out after reading Blacklist. This book follows the same pattern as Blacklist, switching from past to present. I love seeing the snippets of the past through the perspective of Sterling and Adair. Their love story has seen many twists and turns so far, but I feel that we haven't read them all. I 'm anxious to see how their story ends and I'm at the edge of my seat waiting for the next book in the series. Just when you feel that they have overcome all obstacles, something happens to derail their love story. Please hurry with the next book!

    Blacklist was a great and interesting part but Backlash...oh well not so thrilled. In this part you find some new details about Sterlings life and his past and thats all. Some parts like chapters about past were quite boring, I do not seem to understand what is their purpose except to fill the pages in the book. Like their trip to New York trying out new food...who cares.!? About Adairs secrets we don't get to learn anything and quite frankly she is being a little boring and bitchy character for reasons only author of the book understands. The writing is good and the whole idea but it just takes too long to reveal interesting stuff and still after whole book you don't!!! I had enough of Sterling and Adair, especially Adair so the 3rd part is a NO NO for me.

    Backlash is the second book to The Rivals series and <b>I loved it</b>.

    The more I read of this series the more I am loving it. Blacklist introduced us to Stirling and Adair but in Backlash we get to know them a lot more and understand a lot more about their past relationship, their present relationship and their time apart. I love how the story takes us from past to present and each time divulges a little more.

    I have a love/hate relationship for books like this. When I love a book this much I hate to take a break from reading when life (work/sleep etc) gets in the way. I try to savour the first reading but always find myself racing through it and then regretting getting to the end. I really felt this for Backlash.

    This book was a rollercoaster of emotions, and surprise twists and turns. Just when you think you have something worked out, you were wrong and pleasantly surprised. And in true Geneva Lee style, we have a cliffhanger ending.

    I cannot wait for Bombshell.

    More romance, still a lot of past/present/past/... That annoyed me a lot znd confused as well. I kept thinking that Cyrus Eaton or what his name was, thit a double in the face..
    I bought the third one as well tonknow how it ends.

    To be brutally honest : The books are to expensive for what they are..
