Firstly, I must admit that I’ve not read Dorian Gray so I didn’t realize it was a retelling. But secondly, I absolutely loved this story about Dorian and Sylvia. It was intense and dark; I devoured it in no time once I had a chance to sit down uninterrupted.

    First time reading Measha Stone and I gotta say she wrote this book amazingly.

    It's a dark romance retelling of Dorian Gray.

    Dorian is made into the alpha type and dom in the bedroom which honestly I can totally see in the original story.

    The man is stunning, looks like a god, and oozes confidence. The man is also worth tons of money. He can have any lady he wants and when he gets them, he dominates them in the bedroom and not even his own but his guest bedroom and sends them packing in the morning cause they just don't do it for him....that's until he gets a hold of Syliva who sees what type of guy he is and she wants nothing to do with him. Wrong answer for him.

    Let's just say the story gets even better when these two are brought together. The story involves kidnapping and has a dom sub-theme so please read trigger warnings. All in all, this is a great quick read that you can get done in a day

    This is not a monster romance. Gray is a rich man with dark tastes. He wants to take care of and hurt his h but not cause her harm/damage. Our h whose a violinist learns she craves what he dishes out.

    -H wants to brush her hair after he whips her booty

    -this is a retelling/ twist on a story about Dorian gray… idk who that is. When I hear gray- I think of 50 shades lol 🤷🏻‍♀️😜
    -overall this was good. A solid 3. Will read next book.

    Gray is part of the Stalked by a Monster series, but can be read as a stand alone. Dorian is a collector of beautiful things and knows immediately he must have Sylvia. Taken in the middle of the night, Sylvia is so confused about what she should feel about her captor, but when both are in danger, will they lean into their feelings, or will Sylvia take her chance to run?

    This was a dark romance that was definitely light on the romance, but heavy on the steam. Dorian and Sylvia were an explosive couple that couldn’t keep their hands off of each other, or their hearts out of their situation. Dorian is unapologetically himself, arrogant, powerful, and extremely dominant. He will take exactly what he wants. Sylvia is graceful and magnetic and has no idea what to feel when it comes to Dorian. She wants to be so mad, but can’t deny the ways he plays her body. I think one thing I didn’t love about this book was just a lack of romance. There is not a whole lot of bonding outside of the bedroom, so this book was just a lot of steamy, sticky, darkness. Maybe I didn’t connect to the storyline as well because I’m not as familiar with Dorian Gray’s original storyline, but I still thought the book was good.

Both characters were each other’s reflections, and helped the story progress in a mature way. Sexy scenes were hot, though not as much bondage as I thought there would be.
