Hate Like Honey (Corsican Crime Lord Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 578 ratings

The price I paid to claim her cost me too dearly to ever let her go.

A deal sealed with a handshake promised she’d be mine. A broken vow ripped her from my future. I made unspeakable sacrifices to claim what rightfully belongs to me. After all the blood I shed in her name, the bond that ties us is hatred. The war cost us both dearly, but the price we paid won’t be in vain. I’ll never let her go.

If she thinks she can escape her destiny, she hasn’t seen the worst of me yet.
If she thinks she knows the devil in me, she’s about to meet the monster.

Note: Hate Like Honey is Book 2 of the Corsican Crime Lord dark mafia romance series and ends on a cliffhanger. Love Like Poison (Book 1) must be read first. Sabella and Angelo's story continues in Tears Like Acid (Book 3) and concludes in Kisses Like Rain (Book 4).

Amazing Contuation
This is book two in the series. You must read them in order. At the end of book one, we were left at a crucial cliffhanger. Mercifully, it picked up exactly where we left it. You go through a rollercoaster of emotions while reading this amazing book. Because you never know what is going to happen next. Sabella and Angelo's interactions become dark. I couldn't put this done. Charmaine has once again blown this out of the park to give us this us a charged and compelling couple. I can't wait to read the next book and where Charmaine takes us. I recommend this book for sure.

Hate Like Honey is the second book of the series Corsican Crimen. In this book we see Angelo devastated by loss, and immersed in a great hatred towards her... towards everyone... He knows it’s not her fault, he knows she is innocent but he also knows that if it wasn’t for her nothing would have happened... All because of his desire for Bella, it’s all her fault.
On the other hand, Sabella has so much fear because of her guilt, and so much anguish that she doesn’t know how to react as everything unfolds around her... Angelo and Bella’s world, as they knew it, has just turned so cold, so d3adly, so sinister that neither of them knows what will come next.
A promise kept, but with tears, pain, betrayal, and disappointment.
For Angelo, the only thing left is revenge and blind rage and to make Sabella pay in life for what he lost for her.
What will have to happen for that blind and blunt hatred to turn into love? Or will it be that the wound is so big that there is no salvation for either of them? What else will Sabella have to pay for having been born with a last name that she did not choose to have? Will love to be stronger than the pain and hatred that unites them? We will find out in Tears Like Acid, this exciting story, a roller coaster of emotions.

What a crazy story so far. I can't stand Angelo for what he's doing to Sabella. I feel so bad for Sabella that has to pay the price for what her father did. I believe I'm done reading dark romances. It's a bit too much for me. Don't get me wrong it's a good story if you like FMC getting treated badly by MC. Moving on to the next book which I believe things are just going to het worse. I will finish Sabella and the evil man story but, unfortunately it won't be one I'll read again.

Without spoiling it, it does get worse for both of them, Angelo and Sabella. This story is, so much, about choices. If I do this, then I can have a happy life and if I choose that, it's a life of pain and sadness. Neither one of them can separate what's true and what's not. However, this story will make you feel for both of them, make you wish they would open up their eyes and see how good they could be together, and it makes you want them to be together. God, I so want them to be together in all the ways that count and mean something. The spice is hot, and some are even hotter, and the chemistry is deep, but the storyline is rich. Well done Charmaine. This book is even better than book one.

I hate Angelo. Such a strong emotional response gives insight into the talent of Ms. Pauls. If he isn’t murdered through slow torture by Sabella I’m going to be so angry. Just once I’d like to see the heroine who is made to pay for the actions of others by an immature male just eff him up good. But it won’t happen in these books and due to her writing talent, Ms. Pauls will lead me to forgiving his assholery. But I’d really like to read a book where the “hero “ sees the error of his ways and the heroine doesn’t forgive and forget but leaves him in his remorse to live out his days in pain. I’m a little annoyed with Angelo as you can see. Read this book and see what I mean.

I finished this book feeling shocked by how much Angelo's emotions have turned him into even more of a villain. This story is dark romance at its finest, and takes no prisoners between its pages! Sabella endures so much in this novel, yet remains determined to rise above her circumstances. Can Angelo be redeemed? Redemption for villains is my favorite element of reading dark romance, and I'm going to leave a light on for Angelo and give him a chance. Bring on book 3, because this girl is ready for more!

Angelo and Sabella are caught in a web that is not of their making. Angelo is intent on fulfilling a promise he made to dear old dad. Sabella fell in love at sixteen and cannot fall out because she is sheltered, protected, naive and spoiled.
Many things happen to challenge and wreck any chance of these two ultimately having a happy ever after. A forced marriage sets the stage for the next chapter in their lives and the next book. Sabella needs to close her mouth and think about saving herself but she is young and inexperienced period.

Death has been the price for this obsession. Furious, he will take everything from her. Hardening his heart because no matter how much hatred and destruction they may suffer from each other. There's no other way but to finish this. Because they destined to destroy each other.

The church scene will be my favorite part. Angelo is so d*mn hot and dirty even if he's terrifying. Sabella please, just show how much you love him after everything. I can't wait to read the next book.

Hands down, this is my favorite read this month! Really a page-turner, unputdownable!!!

From the 1st page I was gone. Angelo and Sabella’s continuation engrossed me completely, consumed with every piece, and at the end, with that massive cliffhanger, left waiting for what’s next for them. In light of recent tragic incidents from both sides, their intense relationship that in no time becomes toxic and unhealthy, driving them to make so irrational decisions and cross so many boundaries between them. Where love and affection once been, now anger, hate, reluctance take over.
Despite knowing what should be done, Angelo decides to carry on with the marriage arranged between his and Sabella’s family, forcing her by threatening her loved ones and to punish her for their mistakes. Sabella finally realises the scale of denial she has been living in and the betrayal by her family, and devastation that man who once she adored, despite his flaws, now becomes her biggest enemy.

Book #2. I disliked Angelo so much in book 2. I wanted to have Bella end her life. I couldn't take it anymore. I don't know how she was able to survive but the author is good at this. Then Angelo kills her father.

Omg. What did I just read. Dark and dangerous. Angelo loses control. So much angst. Intrigue and suspenseful twists. Sabella is so damaged. My heart breaks for her. Their future happiness is in jeopardy. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Amazing writing.
