A minute passes with her just staring at me, and the sweat gathering at my hairline drips down the side of my face. She watches it fall, and I jump to put my feet on the outside of the belt, then lean down so we're face to face. "You might wanna contain your drool, sweetheart. I'd hate for you to slip and hurt yourself."

Her head snaps back like I just woke her up from a dream, and my smirk transforms into a grin. "Whatever." She rolls her eyes, and when she starts to walk away, I grab her arm. "Yes?" she asks.
I'll wait until her eyes are on mine because I need to see her reaction, and her face is so expressive it gives everything away. The moment she turns her body toward me, I slide my finger down the inside of her arm over the smooth skin there and link our pinkies together. Her face softens with the light touch. "You wanna grab some coffee when you're done?"

"Yes, but I can't. I won't have time. My class is in five minutes and--"

"Skip your class."

"Q."

I press the button to shut the treadmill off and step down."Madeline." I love that her face softens when I say her name.

"I need to go to yoga."

I step back, and my eyes make the journey from her pretty face, down her bare neck, past her full breasts that are compressed in a tight black sports bra,past her flat stomach, down her toned legs covered only by skintight yoga pants, and then back up. "You don't need to go to yoga."

She tilts her head to the side as a sexy, shy smile plays on her lips. "If I want you to keep looking at me like that, I do."

    Q and Madeline's story has it all: love, fun, intrigue, hotness. Q has been a constant in the Guarding her series, so I couldn't wait for his story. It can totally be read as standalone and it definitely didn't disappoint. What started as another assignment, quickly turned out as something more as soon as Q's gut started sending signal, when he met Maddy he knew she was special. Anna Brooks delivers another page turned that will keep you at the edge of your seat! I need more Royal Ace!!

    Q and Maddy are two really awesome characters. From the get-go there's something so very vunerable and likable about them both. Q is a man on a mission who falls in love despite himself. He knows he's on a crash course to hurt the woman he loves but can't stop it. Maddy is a woman who has every reason not to trust anybody. People, men in particular, have never been great to her. Her mom never protected her from the world even when she really needed shielding. Q protects Maddy even when she doesn't know she needs protecting. Their love story has a lot of bumps and twists but it makes the HEA all the better. I will definitely be reading more in this series and from Anna Brooks in general.

    Q was swoon-worthy. I could see the train wreck of his lies coming. I knew they were necessary for Madeline’s safety. I still knew my heart would break when her’s did, but I didn’t expect Q’s soft side would make me fall in love with him and my heart would break for him too. Sometimes doing the right things sucks. This was a sweet book with a bit of suspense, a couple of unexpected twists, and a solid HEA. It’s my first read of Anna Brooks’, but I didn’t feel lost starting the series with book 6. Now I hope Sadie and Brodie get together. I think he’s exactly what she needs.

    Hesitate is the sixth book in the Guarding Her Series. Don’t worry if you haven’t read the others tho, I haven’t and had no trouble enjoying this great read. This one has a bodyguard/tech nerd, a teacher, a sorry pornstar mother, unknown danger, hot steamy scenes, a relationship started with lies by one person and the fear of losing love when the lies are discovered. I cried and laughed while reading this highly recommend you read this one. The first five books are going on my TBR list.

    This is the first book I’ve read by Anna Brooks and there were a lot of aspects that I liked and some that I would have preferred to be a little different. Part of that is because this book is not the first in the series so it jumps right into the storyline without much of a back story. So if you’re going to read this book I definitely recommend that you read the others in the series. I liked the general
    Plot of the book. It’s a different premise than I’ve read however things seemed to happen in a very boom boom boom way. What I mean by that is boom this happened then book this happened next then boom now this. It wasn’t very fluid for me and I was missing a good build up to the drama.
    I loved that Q was every bit of a man. He was demanding and commanding, passionate and even sweet. My favorite type of guys. I also liked that there were several plot twist and this kept me reading. I would recommend reading this book as long as you read the ones before.

    This is book 6 in the Guarding Her series, and it can be read as a stand-alone.
    It’s my first book by this author - so in this series - and I was totally fine reading it. I caught up with all the important things during reading this book.
    Q got hired to find Maddy for her mother, whom she hasn’t seen in a long time. But he sensed there was something shady about her mother, so Q decided to up on Maddy’s security. They both fall head over heels it feels like, and it all crashes when Maddy finds out the truth.
    This is one fast paced, sexy read. It was definitely enjoyable, had twists and turns you might see coming, but it keeps the story interesting!
