Received an ARC of this one and finished it in one sitting- Great balance of smut and storyline and I liked how the two were intertwined (the 🌶️🌶️🌶️ parts made sense). I do wish we had more background on the characters but I have a feeling that we'll get to know more with the subsequent books. Overall great read.

    Loved this story. The characters were cute and I liked reading about the chemistry between Teresa and Pacari. Wish the connection between the Lantern Witch & Nina was more fleshed out, but it didn’t detract too much from the story.

    This is my first read by Latrexa and I am in love with the story and characters she created!!!

    Teresa is a dancer who came to Cryptic Cove with her friends for some time away to relax. When she spotted Pacari, other thoughts came to mind that had nothing to do with relaxing. I adore this woman so much - she’s fun, confident, ballsy and has a love for adventure that had me smiling more often than not.

    Pacari is a sea creature who is in a precarious agreement with the sea witch to protect and save his pets and garden. I adore how he is just as sweet and dirty and he is alluring.

    This talented queen whipped up a one of kind story with main characters I love and side characters I am dying to get to know better. I devoured this in one sitting, loving the banter and spice. Hot Summer’s Prey has earned a spot as one of my summer favorites and I can’t wait to see what Latrexa has in store for Anelisa and Cirro!

    So I received this Arc by Latrexa Nova and this was my first book from her. And yeah, I know my review is a little late 😅.
    Anyways, this was such interesting concept and honestly have to say I’ve never read a monster romance quite like this one. It was very interesting and bingable. I loved how all the main characters were older and not 20 somethings. My only con of the book it was little hard to follow at times but might be a me problem lol definitely will be finishing the rest of the series as it comes out!

    A fun, little summer monster-romance! I found Latrexa Nova’s newest book very creative and entertaining. My favorite of all the characters was Pacari, our seacreature that falls for the FMC. His vibe and description was very fun, and he was such a sweetheart. I loved the representation of various characters, and I’m looking forward to the next entry in this series to get to know the other friends of Theresa and Pacari. I thought that for the length of the book (200 pages) we were introdused to in my opinion too many characters, and I sometimes had trouble remembering who was who, and their storyline. And speaking of storylines, there was a few too many. I would have loved for the book to just focus on the struggles with e.g. the sea witch, and maybe have the other storylines for another book. If the book was longer maybe it would have worked better, but it made me not as invested as I could have been. Overall Hot Summers Prey was an entertaining, very creative and fun book, and if you love sea creatures, steamy scenes in a cave, cute side characters and friendship, this is a book for you!

    Absolutely loved this book, and that’s saying something because I am TERRIFIED of the ocean. I will always love. Some plus size representation, and Teresa was serving that. She wanted what she wanted and she made sure to get it. We love confidence and a woman who knows what she wants. Picari was so sweet, but also nastay in the best ways. The spice was SPICIN in this one. I want a Picari in my life just saying. Idk how that would work with my ocean fear though lol.

    There was SO much resprensentattion and education in this book. I love Latrexa’s ability to make educational content interesting and fun. I always know I’ll learn a thing or two reading their books. I cannot wait to read the rest of this series.

    A fun, quick read that is difficult to put down once I started it and would've easily been finished in an afternoon if I hadn't had to pause halfway through. As a fat person, I love fat FMCs that are not only unapologetic but shown as desirable and sensuous. Teresa is fat and proud and I love that for her. Not only that, but Pacari absolutely worships every bit of her luscious curves, therefore he is perfect, no notes. This is one of those books that I wish had been a little longer, a little more fleshed out. The background was also interesting but it was treated like a footnote and I would've loved to see it breathe a little more. The romance is very high heat, my favorite, and the sex scenes are fantastic. I love unique genitalia and Pacari's did not disappoint in that regard. I can't wait for the next one!

    You got time to look up a Geoduck? Because, uh... anyways, I suddenly want a magical pearl necklace and to go to the beach. This was a fun cozy monster romance with a hint of mystery, very s3x and body positive, which I always enjoy. I loved learning about the sea life that Pacari cares for and tends to. Teresa is spunky and chaotic; I love her and her friend group so much! The chemistry between Pacari and Teresa was HOT, and I found myself kicking my feet and giggling at multiple parts. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!
