Old Haunts (The 'How To Be Dead' Grim Reaper Comedy Horror Series Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 840 ratings

Death's not taking the news he received at the end of Paper Cuts very well...

Dave is still getting used to the undead trying kill him at regular intervals while he and Anne attempt to solve the mystery of the strange forces that continue to engulf London.

And Melanie's still putting up with more than any person should in a relationship.

When the true nature of what lies at the dark heart of UberSystems International is revealed, can the team pull together and stop the impending bijou Apocalypse-ette?

Death's come to kick ass and eat biscuits. And he's all out of biscuits.

Old Haunts is the third part in a series of best-selling funny urban fantasy novellas that tells the story of Death and his friends protecting humanity from ghosts, zombies, vampires and medium-sized apocalypses.

After a nice cup of tea and a biscuit.

The book fills in the background of Dave and Anne. It also closes some story arcs left over from the previous book.

Funny, engaging, and over much too quickly. Not as laugh-out-loud funny as the first book in the series, but the bar was set pretty high. I'm looking forward to more from Mr. Turner.

Not as fast paced as the last 2 books of the trilogy but it still a good book. Only reason why I give it 4 stars is because I believe the author could have come up with a much better ending

Can't recommend this entire series enough. Binge read all 3 books in 3 days and I'm off to start the next one immediately, so a longer review will have to wait.

But could there be a better endorsement of the books? ;)

A pleasant and quick read. Continues the adventure and I am enjoying the books, but I have been hoping that they would "ramp up" a bit. I want more humor and more plot twists (as I think back, I can only remember one...). And a longer book.

4.0 out of 5 stars great series
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 13, 2022
These books are well written and the characters are genuinely run of mill everyday folk like all of us, making them easy to like and understand. I laugh out loud now and then and smile a lot when reading these, although I do have quite a childish sense of humour. All of this series I have read so far I have thoroughly enjoyed, but this did seem to lag a little towards the end. This just may have been me losing concentration after reading the same author for 3 books. I can't even sit through an hour and a half film. Well worth a read and I have moved on to book 4 which is brilliant!
