Serious Moonlight (The 'How To Be Dead' Grim Reaper Comedy Horror Series Book 5) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 1,521 ratings

It’s the weekend!

After stopping the destruction of London, Dave and Melanie have earned a romantic getaway in the country. Even though they’ve left the stresses of the city behind, they’re soon up to their necks with paranormal researchers, witches and the ghosts of star-crossed lovers. Not to mention the lack of broadband and the unspeakable horror lurking in the woods.

They’re getting closer to nature, but nature is getting far too close for comfort.

Serious Moonlight is the fifth part in a series of best-selling funny urban fantasy novellas that tells the story of Death and his friends protecting humanity from ghosts, zombies, vampires and medium-sized apocalypses.

What Amazon readers are saying about the How To Be Dead series:

★★★★★ “Dave Turner is a funny man and ‘How To Be Dead’ is a brilliant read.”

★★★★★ “If Neil Gaiman and Simon Pegg sat down to write a story together they might come up with something like this.”

★★★★★ “Hilarious and unexpectedly moving.”

★★★★★ “Laugh out loud funny… It’s been a while since an author has made me laugh more than Pratchett does.”

★★★★★ "If you like Tom Holt, Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett, Dave Turner's books will fit perfectly into your collection."

Dave Turner has delivered another fine book on Melanie, Dave and the horseman Death. This time it's up to Melanie to save Dave which is fair because she is a strong, independent woman who's more than capable of slaying wild animals, vampires or any other creature stalking the night.

And a book to make all of his fans smile, too. Dave Turner once again brings laughs, action, the supernatural, and a relationship to cheer for...all wrapped up in the best cliffhanger ending yet! A must read for all HTBD fans. If you haven't read any of the series yet, back up and read the whole thing starting with How To Be Dead. It is all a must read. You'll be glad that you did, and wind up right back here with the rest of us wanting more.

I just devoured the "How to be Dead" series and read "War" for dessert. Very imaginative and funny. Actually made milk come out of my nose once!
Thanks to Dave Turner, I am no longer afraid of Death. I'm actually kinda looking forward to meeting him. He and the other three Horsemen seem like they would be a fun crew to hang out with. I'd definitely want them on my side!
I LOVED this series and am looking forward to seeing what Mr. Turner has in store for us in the future. Hopefully the Apocalypse won't happen before then!

Serious Moonlight; really, after in no particular order, zombies, ghosts, vampires, the horsemen of the apocalypse... Could werewolves be left out? I think not! Dave Turner's amazingly dry humour combined with utter British oh-get-on-with-it-then practicality is comedy gold. Unexpected turn of phrase, unexpected plot-twists, unexpected everything; expect it.

After everything that's happened, Dave and Mel deserve a weekend away from it all, do they not? But the picturesque little town far from the London madness and "sinkholes" which are really dimentional rifts, isn't exactly the reprieve they were hoping for. Granted, Dave thought he'd get a little work done as well, helping some stuck souls cross over to the other side, but he got more than he bargained for when werewolves, witches and crazed townfolk get in on things...
