Maya Grossman is the author of Invaluable: Master the 10 Skills You Need to Skyrocket Your Career. She is a marketing executive, a blogger, a speaker, a podcast host, and a career coach.

Maya is a marketing consultant who works with startups and Fortune 500 companies to help them build high-performing marketing teams. Earlier in her career, she was the VP of Marketing at Colu, a Fintech startup that delivers mobile payment solutions. Before that, she led Product Marketing at Microsoft and was the Head of Digital Marketing at SodaStream, a consumer goods company that was acquired for $3.2 billion dollars. Previously, Maya was an executive director at an award-winning PR and Social Media agency.

Throughout her 15-year career, Maya was able to work for companies like Microsoft and Google, receive multiple promotions and raises, and strategically level up from an individual contributor to a VP. The experiences and the insights Maya gained led her to write this book because she believes that everyone can benefit from developing an invaluable mindset—especially people who are earlier in their career and need the tools for success.

Maya is known for her motivational, authentic voice and her pragmatic approach to career development. Her love for helping others has led her to become a mentor and career coach, and it is one of her biggest passions.

"Invaluable" is a practical guide to personal growth, with beautifully written stories and original insights. Every chapter ends with a checklist and a summary. And the best thing is- ANYONE can start using these methods in their life starting today, no matter where they’re currently working or in what field. I think you'll have the same magical "career coach" feeling as well. Oh, and if you're in Marketing, you'll especially love this book. My only criticism is that it's too short. But maybe in 5-10 years we can read stories about the next chapter of the author's life :-)

    When reading this book it seemed like she was presenting the obvious. However, these steps and tricks may not be obvious to all. What I found very useful is the layout. She has presented the information in logical, actionable steps that allows anyone to formulate a plan to achieve their dream career without being distracted by the wrong opportunities. At the end of each chapter is a summary checklist that I think I will refer back to when I am feeling as though I am not making progress to make sure I haven't overlooked anything or can't be doing something better.

    As she states in the book, these steps and tricks are things that she found herself doing naturally. I think I will use this book the most in a mentoring context as it has been the best explanation of the "how-to of career pursuits" put to words that I have ever read.
