About the author

I was born in 1968 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee and have done many different jobs over the years. Starting with my apprenticeship as an upholsterer and bedding manufacturer in 1984 to my own web design company. I handed this over to someone else at the end of 2016. On vacation in 2015, I started writing down the first ideas for a novel. There are still many more ideas in my head, so you will get to read a lot more from me in the future.
What I want to emphasize is that I write my novels as non-violently as possible, even if the title might give you a different impression. That makes for good reviews and sometimes negative ones, because the reader was probably expecting more violence. But that's why I like to write stories about time travel, because they make it possible to make everything good again.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2025Format: KindleHaving read Benjamin Raunegger's "The Time Machine" I decided to try "It All Started With Flight UA93." that turned out to be another gripping example of science-fiction alternative history. Following a series of catastrophes and nuclear strikes in September, 2001, the United States is transformed into an irradiated wasteland. From a remote bunker in Colorado, a cloistered administration places their only hope for survival on the scientific possibility to alter history, thereby preventing the disaster. Dr. Charly Mosser, an expert in astrophysics and particle physics, is laser focused in his mission to build a tachyon beam cannon. Character development is realistic as are the author's description of settings. Historical details were accurate and well researched. Typographical and formatting errors would benefit from additional editing. As far as writing style, I feel that incorporating animated sentence structure would serve to engage and hold reader attention. Plot twists and action scenes made this a worthwhile read!

The concept of an alternate reality where the passengers of flight UA93 did not succeed in preventing the hijackers from reaching their target is both chilling and thought-provoking. Raunegger has crafted a world that feels hauntingly real, with the stakes higher than ever.
The main character, Dr. Charly Mosser, is an incredibly engaging protagonist, and his mission to avert global catastrophe adds layers of tension and excitement throughout the story. As the plot unfolds, the book takes you on a thrilling adventure filled with unexpected twists and heart-pounding moments that keep you hooked until the very last page.
Raunegger's writing is compelling and sharp, seamlessly blending historical events with fiction to create a gripping narrative that feels both plausible and urgent. The book explores complex themes about fate, heroism, and the consequences of pivotal moments in history, all while maintaining a fast-paced and entertaining storyline.
If you're a fan of alternative history, suspense, and action-packed thrillers, It All Started with Flight UA93 is a must-read. The unique premise and unpredictable twists make it a standout in the genre, and I can't wait to see what Benjamin Raunegger writes next!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2025Format: KindleBenjamin Raunegger's book, It All Started with Flight UA93 is a time travel fiction with a "reset" button. Imagine, if you will, the advent of a nuclear war following the attacks of September 11, 2001. Of all the people on earth only one man had the research to save millions of lives by stopping flight UA93 from destroying the capital. But wait a minute...that hijacked plane never made it to Washington...or did it? Great story. Good work Benjamin.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2025Format: KindleThis book blends history, suspense, and a thought-provoking "what-if" scenario around 9/11. The storytelling is gripping, and the alternate timeline adds a unique twist. A great read for fans of political thrillers and historical fiction.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2025Format: KindleThis book pulls you into an unsettling alternate reality, where the courageous passengers of UA93 didn’t stop the terrorists on 9/11. The story follows Dr. Charly Mosser as he scrambles to save a world spiraling into chaos, and it’s packed with tension and unexpected twists.
The concept is gripping and makes you think deeply about the impact of single moments in history. While some parts felt a little over-the-top, it didn’t take away from the suspense or the power of the story. If you’re into speculative fiction or historical “what-ifs,” this book will definitely keep you hooked.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2024Format: KindleI found the premise of exploring an alternative outcome of Flight UA93 on 9/11 to be both intriguing and unsettling. The author effectively creates a sense of suspense as the narrative unfolds, depicting the potential consequences of a different turn of events. While the subject matter is sensitive, the story focuses on the protagonist's mission to avert further chaos, providing a sense of purpose within the alternative reality. It prompted me to reflect on the impact of pivotal moments in history and the potential for different outcomes.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 25, 2024Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI was excited to get this book, however very disappointed in it. Very poorly written, I do not think it was proof read before it was published. Many errors in wording and punctuation. The chapters were put in, in a strange way. He was telling a story, in the middle of the story he would put a chapter in? It is 182 pages, however the print is very large. I would not have purchase this book, if I knew all the above.

5.0 out of 5 stars The second novel by this author is once again exciting and captivating
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseEven though the novel starts out a bit violent but very exciting and thrilling, I really like the story because it all comes down to putting things right again at the end. I also liked the fictitious assumption of what would have happened if the plane with the flight number UA93 had not crashed prematurely on 11 September 2001, but had reached its destination. The fact that our world history might then have taken a completely different course makes this novel even more interesting. I can only give it 5 stars and a thumbs up.
