Witchlight: Reverse Harem Paranormal Ghost Romance (Blackthorne Junction: The Tales of Izzy Hawthorne Book 1) Kindle Edition
The dead whisper secrets… but some are better left buried.
The night I arrived in Blackthorne Junction, my world shattered. Ghosts are real, magic runs in my blood, and the boy haunting my new home has been waiting over a century for answers.
Billy Hawthorne is a mystery I can’t resist—tragic, beautiful, and bound to a past he can’t remember. When I promise to uncover the truth behind his death, he offers me something even more dangerous in return: the key to unlocking my power. But the spirits in this house don’t want the past unearthed… and they’ll do anything to stop me.
I should be afraid. I should walk away. But falling for a ghost was never part of the plan… and neither was dying for him.
Author’s Note: Witchlight is a why choose romance, meaning Izzy won’t have to pick just one love interest. More will be introduced as the series unfolds! This book contains mature themes, supernatural suspense, and a slow-burn romance that builds over time. If you love magic, mystery, and forbidden love with a ghostly twist, welcome to Blackthorne Junction!

About the author

Lee-Ann Wallace wants to live in a world where washing folds itself, coffee’s good for you and dreams come true (at least the good ones).
With one series published by eXtasy books, she’s just getting started with this thing called writing. If only her hands could type as fast as her imagination flows.
When she’s not tapping away at her computer working on her next story, you can find her daydreaming about her next tattoo, watching action movies with her family, and practicing self-control, so she doesn’t one click every book on Amazon.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2025Format: KindleI didn't make it far before I gave up. What I saw of the grammar/spelling/punctuation wasn't horrible, I don't think... but I'm not even sure how to explain where this went wrong.
The dialogue was very cringe-worthy. The fmc and her mom moved to a new town for the summer and the fmc is not thrilled. I can get behind that. Then she sees the victorian house and is suddenly like, "I love it here." The abrupt 180 nearly gave me whiplash.
Then the mom declares there's no bread or milk (Of course there isn't. They just inherited the house, I think, but it's probably been standing empty for a bit) and they must go to town so they don't have to cook. I mean, same.
but as soon as they get to town, the fmc starts seeing things, like guys with wolf ears. Sounds fascinating, until she faints, the cute waiter catches her and mom swoops in out of nowhere and is all, "Let's get you to the doctor!"
Then the waiter informs her the doctor in their own died and they'll have to go to the next town over. But don't worry! There's a healer in the diner! fmc and her mom have never met her before, but we'll totally trust that she's a healer and all she has to do is touch the fmc to see what's wrong with her. Because that seems normal when you don't know the paranormal world exists.
Did I mention the dialogue? It's repetitive and stilted. Awkward.

2.0 out of 5 stars NOT a Reverse Harem
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis was NOT a reverse harem. The FMC doesn’t even spend a lot of time with the other guy. She also says she doesn’t want to be more than friends with him right now. The FMC is also pretty wishy washy. Like she love the MMC, then she’s better off not caring about him, then everything is instantly forgiven. I didn’t like how their relationship played out.
