Jade: Hidden Scars: A Forbidden Age-Gap Romance (Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 219 ratings

He’s a beast to all …. but for her, he cages his beast.

Naseer
My days of being an alpha are long gone. I’d resigned myself to staying hidden forever.
Out of nowhere, she walks in. Surprising us both, I asked her to “
Sit with Me.” Three words that would change everything.
I would later realize that the universe had slowed me down, then gave me a second chance and that second chance came with Jade by my side. Like I told my dad, “
I would destroy a thousand men for Jade.
No one gets it. Jade is a need that I cannot do without.

Jade

Sit with Me,” he said. Little did I know those three words would be the beginning of us.
Subconsciously, I knew the word “
US” would only be temporary because I’m the girl from the other side, and they all consider me unworthy of him.
The beast is the one that makes my heart thump.
Unfortunately, the beast is
forbidden.

I did not see this story until I was looking for a different book, I would have got this for my birthday when they came out. But as they say better late then never, this is so good I want to go to the end already on the 2 book to see, but I am going to read the whole and enjoy it and be made that it end so soon. LOL 😂
Jade went from being young naïve to grown and strong in survival mode, because when your man is not around and evil comes at you it time to go into survival mode. Nader has a lot to catch up on and if he wants his woman back he’s got to stop talking because that’s not working, he has to literally fight them back.
Awesome read, I know I will have this in my read over again, and again pile.

This is the first book that I have read by this author (A. Akinosho) and even though there were quite a few typos and grammatical errors, it was good. The immaturity of the main female character (Jade) is due to her youth (teenager) so I understood the frustration on the part of the main male character (Naseer). I am more angry with how the father (Naseer's father) keeps interfering and becomes successful in separating them. Also, the so called "princess" that can't take "no" for an answer that Naseer does not want anything to do with her. Also, it is unreal even though Jade was in her teens, for the princess to slap her in the face and get away with it! The teens of today would surely have hit her back! Just saying! Lol! Also, I am wondering if the author is a fan of the musical artist, Sade Adu. It is funny how "Jade" the main female character's name is similar in pronunciation to the artist, Sade! Plus, the artist's full name is "Helen Folasade Adu" and since Jade's name is Miriam Jade and she is also Nigerian like the artist, the similarity is so uncanny! Very good story and I am anxious for the next book on this couple!

They were the very opposite, from two different world, and don’t forget the age gap, she was sixteen and he was twenty six … wow ! They were both living in a nightmarish pain, her from loosing both parents from a fire and him, a motorcycle accident that almost took his and had him in pain and bedridden for almost a year… imagine a handsome young man who was living it up and now scared and helpless. 🤔
They met kind by accident and he enjoyed talking to her and from there they healed each other and their bound only strengthens and changed to something stronger… Fast forward, his father only tolerated her because of her effects on him to get better when before he was dark and even contemplating offing himself. But when he got better, the father had no use for her and plotting to get rid of her.
Their love for each other is strong but the odds are high… A lot will happen between high school to college…
I can’t wait for book 2, I am hopping they will put their insecurity and jealousy aside and together stand and fight the demons namely Mr Darabi and Nadra … they are 2 strong people, they need to stop arguing and enjoying their family. Mr Darabi needs to get in his lane so is the bi••h !! Enough!!
    Loved it!!

I really liked Jade and Naseer's story. I'm glad the author was able to connect them without crossing certain boundaries.

My rating is 3.5 out of 5 stars because this book needs to be thoroughly edited. I can look past mistakes here and there, but it's as if I was given a rough draft. I hope that the author will release an updated/edited version in the future.

I am going to start by saying I highly recommend this Book , It is So filled With angst and Drama, seems as if they can't catch a break but secrets can't stay hidden, on to book 2

Naseer and Jade are star-crossed lovers who were never meant to be.

Although they were both broken, their accidental meeting created an atmosphere where they began to heal each other and formed an everlasting love.

However, their romance would be fraught with difficulties, because well meaning and not so well meaning people conspired to keep them apart.

This was a good read, even if the characters were sometimes too gullible. Overall, it was well done despite the minor typos.

    I can't wait for the Book 2.

    I would recommend it!

The editing of this book, leaving grammatical, word usage, incorrect spelling and other errors in place is awful. It is disruptive in the context and enjoyment of the book. Otherwise an engaging story!

2.0 out of 5 stars Terrible (contains spoilers)

The level of childishness was hard to stomach.
Let’s start with Jade. I know she was young but her constant childish games about maybe meeting another man was ridiculous. These games only bred mistrust given how possessive Naseer was. Jade was also deeply selfish. She had a plan for her life and never once tried to understand Naseer’s life as a Prince or try to strategize about their relationship. She was also far too easily manipulated by everyone, creating a constant roller coaster. Naseer father was awful but if she really loved him, she could have got in contact with him without his dad knowing.
As for Naseer, his attitude didn’t match his age. I also hoped that he had more cunning to protect her knowing how greedy his father was. For instance, why didn’t he try to speak to the King to either impose Jade or let him go?
Lastly, if I was him I don’t think I would ever forgive my sister for hiding my children from me.
