Camera Shy: a grumpy sunshine romance about learning to take risks (The Photographers Trilogy) Kindle Edition
Two strangers in pain. One chance at love…
Heartbroken after her almost-engagement was called off, Jess goes on a mini-break to Paris seeking closure and meets a hot French stranger called Gabriel.
As sparks fly, Jess, fearing she was dumped because she was boring, vows to be more spontaneous, and she and Gabriel have mind-blowing, earth-shattering sex.
With his troubled past and soulful eyes, Jess quickly realises there’s more to Gabriel than a great shag and, when he whisks her away to his fixer-upper chateau in the country, Jess thinks she might be falling for him—even though they’ve only known each other a few days.
But is this what she wants? She was all for taking risks, but risking her heart so soon after a break-up was not in the cards, especially when Gabriel's troubled past arrives in the present.
Can they both heal their emotional wounds and let love back into their lives before it's too late?

Both main characters have to deal with overcoming different type of obstacles and it was truly touching how they came together and overcame them. Definitely something new that I’ve never come across and humbling when you learn about the MMC background. I would definitely recommend it with pleasure.

5.0 out of 5 stars All the feels!
Another book by Julia Boggio that I simply couldn’t put down! We first meet Jess, the main character, in one of Boggio’s previous titles Chasing the Light. There she is portrayed as a likeable character who is left heartbroken by events outside her control. Camera Shy picks up the story of heartbroken Jess as she tries to fathom out what has and will happen with her life. I fell in love with Jess’s honest and endearing nature and enjoyed following her journey.
Jess’s character is fairly open and relatable whereas Gabriel, the male protagonist in this adventure, is initially impenetrable. However, we soon learn that Gabriel has good reason to keep people at arm’s length. Boggio gradually reveals the extent of Gabriel’s trauma and, as ever, she deals with difficult subjects sensitively. I felt that I went on an emotional journey with both Jess and Gabriel, laugh out loud one moment and tears the next!
I completely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next read (unless you dislike sex or romance!).

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality writing with heart and soul
I'm not a huge reader of romance normally, but I'll make an exception for Julia Boggio's work. You can tell so much heart and soul goes into every book she writes. This is a real human story delivered with impact. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet and spicy -- a perfect Parisian romance
This novella is an offshoot of Julia Boggio's Photographers Series (Shooters, and Chasing the Light) and follows the adventures of a character from the second book, sweet English girl Jess, who decides to undertake a personal 'Yes Jess' experiment after circumstances result in her being alone and heartbroken in romantic Paris.
Teacher Jess's self-declared 'science project' soon involves grumpy but sexy aerial photographer, Gabriel. These two characters sizzle between the sheets and on every page. What begins as a happy-go-lucky fling evolves into something much more, and forces Gabriel to face up to the trauma of his past as a war photographer.
Boggio excels at writing characters with sensitivity, while lacing her stories with a warm, wry humour. Camera Shy is also her spiciest tale yet, and for all the right, Jess-empowering reasons. Set against the backdrop of Paris and a fairy-tale chateau in the French countryside, this novella is an uplifting tale of self-discovery and daring to live again. I loved it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous romance set in Paris.
This is a wonderful story, a romcom with a grumpy-sunshine pairing finding each other in Paris. It’s about coming alive again: Jess is rebuilding her life after hurt and disappointment, whilst Gabriel has kept his emotions closed off for so long, he’s surprised when her optimism starts to warm his heart.
Jess is an appealing heroine, determined to step out of her comfort zone after a break up left her worrying that perhaps she’s too ‘boring’ and set in her ways. So she holidays alone in Paris, but everything changes when she meets taciturn Gabriel, who finds her anything but dull. Their lusty fling will challenge both of them to grow beyond their limits.
This story is vibrant and fun, but it also has emotional depth. There are so many great moments, and I loved reading it.
