If you are looking for a star crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet retelling, mobster style, then you need to add this duet to your TBR. Like yesterday... *insert ‘Do it Now’ GIF here. This was my first book/s written by @authortrilinapucci and Sutton and Calder will forever be in my heart. <3 After reading the kindle versions, I bought the paperbacks for my bookshelf and I only do that with books I love and will re-read. Trilina weaves a fantastic plot with brilliant writing that brings allll the feels. Huge new fan here! Calder, who comes from an Irish mobster family and Sutton, whose family are your typical well known stuck up rich family are at ‘war’ and hate each other. Drama ensues. The instant pull to each other that Sutton and Calder had, wasn’t so much instalove but a slow build with instant fascination. The romance was just *chefs kiss! There are a few scenes that get a little rough so be mindful of that going into these but then you come across the scenes in the field and your heart just goes all warm and fuzzy. Just writing this review makes me want to go back and re-read. If you love: Mafia/Mobster Romance, Forbidden Romance/Star Crossed Lovers, Opposites Attract, Time Jumps, Character Growth,Steamy AF Smut then you’ll love this duet. Book 1: Just like Heaven Book 2: Sinning like Hell Both are 5 stars!

    This was phenomenal!!! It’s been a hot minute for a book to take over my whole personality. This was funny, this was sexy, it was spicy and all consuming! My god, Calder is everything. His pov chapters made me feel so much! I highlighted a whole bunch but here are my favorite two: now I’m baptized in you; the cigarette was nice but she was the only thing I wanted to inhale. He keeps a journal and wrote the realest, sweetest things in it but then he will crack someone with a bat or fist or weapon for treating her poorly. He is fierce and protective yet so tender and raw. I listened to the audio as well and wow! Connor Crais was phenomenal and Angelina Rocca was fire in spicy scenes. Immediately on to book 2. I will also be reading everything Trilina Pucci writes and have already stalked her socials. Easiest 5 stars, 10/10, highly recommend! My shelf trophies will be arriving in 2 days and can’t wait to add them to my god tier shelf!

    I read this duet a couple of years ago before I started to really do reviews and I swear, it rewired my brain. This first book in particular is one of my favorite books of all time, and rereading it via audio made it even better. Angelina Rocca & Connor Crais did such a phenomenal job bringing Sutton & Calder to life. Don’t even get me started on the spicy scenes because… WOW.

    This is a darker Romeo & Juliet retelling where Calder Wolfe comes from an Irish mob family and Sutton Prescott is a Catholic schoolgirl with a politician father set on eradicating the Wolfe family. Their story is full of angst, violence, and an all-consuming type of love. Fair warning, it ends on a cliffhanger that will rip your heart right out of your chest and have you instantly downloading Sinning Like Hell.

    This story follows Calder and Sutton. The pair of teenage star crossed lovers. Sutton is the daughter of a senator, Calder is the son of the Mob.

    What I liked: Of course, I loved the forbidden aspect! Two respective characters know they are not good for each other but they just can’t help but keep coming together. They were drawn to one another with one glance. That’s all it took. They did have great chemistry and I did find myself on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next.

    What I didn’t like: For me, it’s always the writing (English major here). I just felt like there were a lot of one liners, maybe too many, in every scene with Calder and Sutton. Also, they were 17 & 19, respectively. I can never connect to teenagers in love. As a 33 year old woman, I think that speaks for itself. I feel like the writing wanted to be poetic but it wasn’t.

    We can visualize the white angel and the fallen who fell in love with each other.. the romance is spicy and absolutely beautiful, full of emotions.. I fell in love with Calder , my hot fallen with a dark and beautiful soul !
    But the end is truly heartbreaking.. a real cliffhanger ! I can’t wait for the sequel and I absolutely recommend it !

    It had been so long since a book made me feel, really feel, everything. I read every single word written in this book, not skipping even a paragraph. It is so beautiful and so hearth breaking that it becomes addictive, some may say it’s cliché because well we all know how the story ends but it is written so brilliantly that along the journey you forget that you already know what will happen.
    It broke me and put me Together so many times that at this point I’m not quite sure I have all my pieces, but I regret nothing.

    For sure a book I will re read many times.
