I have written for as long as I could write. In fact, before, when I would dictate to my auntie. I love to read, and I love to create worlds and characters.

I live in the English countryside. When I’m not writing, I like to get out there and think through the next scenario I’m going to throw my characters into.

Inspiration can be found anywhere, on a train, in a restaurant or in an office. I am always in search of the next character to find love in one of my stories. In a world of apps and online dating, it is important to remember love can be found when you least expect it.

The Good Neighbour is a heartfelt addition to the Queens Crescent series that beautifully explores themes of healing, friendship, and self-discovery. Kristian Parker delivers a poignant narrative that pulls at the heartstrings while also infusing moments of joy and humor.

The story revolves around Josh Winterton, a fashion designer who is grappling with the emotional fallout of his husband's abrupt departure. His life feels like a shattered mirror, and it's easy to empathize with his pain and the way it has dimmed his once-bright passion for design and his connections to others. Just when it seems he might remain trapped in his sorrow, a charming and flamboyant stranger, Hugh, enters the picture.

Hugh, a drag queen nursing his own wounds after a public humiliation, brings a burst of color and energy into Josh’s gray existence. Their initial encounter is electric, sparking an undeniable chemistry that promises to light up both their lives. As they navigate their personal struggles, their connection deepens, creating a beautiful contrast between their vulnerabilities and the vibrant personalities they each embody.

Parker's writing shines as he captures the complexities of grief, love, and the journey toward self-acceptance. The dialogue flows effortlessly, and the banter between Josh and Hugh is both witty and touching, providing moments of levity amid the heavier themes. The portrayal of the drag community adds a rich layer to the story, celebrating individuality and the importance of support in overcoming life's challenges.

What truly sets The Good Neighbour apart is its emphasis on personal growth. Josh’s journey from despair to hope is inspiring, and watching him reclaim his life and passions is incredibly satisfying. The message that it’s never too late to find happiness resonates throughout the narrative, making this book not just a romance but also a powerful story of resilience.

In conclusion, The Good Neighbour is a delightful read filled with warmth, laughter, and the healing power of love. Whether you're a longtime fan of the Queens Crescent series or new to Parker's work, this book is a gem that you won’t want to miss. I highly recommend it!.

The thing I enjoy most about this series is they way the neighbors have made their own family. Josh is a fashion designer whose husband decides that he is no longer needed after recovering from cancer. The residents of Queen's Crescent surround him with support. Then he meets Hugh, a drag queen , who is housesitting for a neighbor. I loved the chemistry they have together! And I love that Mrs. Wimpole and the Professor finally get their moment in the spotlight!

I really enjoy the Queens Crescent series, the characters are so realistic and relatable, and the exclusive neighborhood is such a special place. All the neighbors get worked into the stories at one point or another, just like old friends dropping in.
Josh has been a resident for several years, living with his husband Winston. All is not well in the marriage, and Josh is devastated when his husband leaves. Neighbors Mrs. Wimpole, the Professor, and Madelyn work to bring him out of his funk, but it is the handsome man house sitting next door who finally gets through. Hugh is a drag queen and has had recent setbacks in his career, and Josh is giving him support, while they are both exploring their mutual attraction. Between escalating problems for Hugh, and problems for Josh from his soon-to-be ex, the new romance has its bumps, but the neighbors work together to help find solutions and bring peace back to the neighborhood, with a few surprises along the way.

There is a bit of a mystery and some sleuthing, some laughs and giggles, sadness and tears, and underhanded actions, along with love and support from a tight knit neighborhood, leading to the expected HEA for the couple. This is a delightful series, with only one book left. I will miss further installments afterwards, as they are lighthearted, easy reads with some sexy times thrown in, memorable characters, and a special little slice of London where it all takes place.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story; I LOVE the Queens Crescent crew and have really enjoyed all the stories so far. I love going back to the neighborhood and having all the lovely and intriguing characters make appearances. I do think this story had a bit of unrealistic melodrama to it, though, which I haven't particularly found in the other stories of the series. The ex (Winston) is a very one-dimensional character and I don't see any reason anyone would believe for even a split second that he'd be welcomed back, so that probably needed a bit more plotting and realism for me, but otherwise, I think this is a great addition to the series.
