Bodyfreeze: British Sci-Fi Horror Novel - Set A Few Years From Now Kindle Edition
How cold is cold? How deep is despair? At what temperature does your heart finally… shatter?
Minus. Two. Hundred. Degrees.
Cryonics. The practice of freezing the human body in the hope of bringing it back to life.
It’s a voluntary procedure.
Usually.
Now the Brits want their slice of immortality even while their country slowly croaks.
Stefan Anderson thought selling immortality would be a scream.
He was right.
Only the scream was canned, bubbling up from a tank of liquid nitrogen.
Frothing with revenge.
Even trapped upside down in a steel can, there are ways…
Of taking back what’s yours…
If you can’t have your life back… if your life was cut short…
You can damned well make sure those responsible suffer too.
The UK’s biggest cryonics company is about to find that out.
The cold, hard way.
And Stefan Anderson is first in line…

About the author

I’m a British horror fiction writer who’s not afraid to send visceral shivers through the spines of my readers.
Expect bucketfuls of blood, gore and guts in my novels. That doesn’t mean I neglect what lies encased inside the skull either. There’s nothing I love more than zapping readers on a psychological level too!
Ratstrike – the first in a rat trilogy – is my homage to British horror fiction author, James Herbert, whose classic horror novel, The Rats, inspired me to write my own rat horror novel.
How the world looks decades from now fascinates me. Are we facing a bleak dystopian future? There are enough problems to contend with, from global warming to new emerging pandemics. Hey, even the threat of nuclear annihilation hasn’t gone away.
Much of my horror fiction channels a post-apocalyptic theme. There’s nothing scarier than staring through the prism of a dystopian future. You never know what’s gonna slap you in the chops. Courage is required to look the future square in the eye. I believe a guerilla attitude to horror writing is more important than ever in the 21st century.
I am that guerilla writer. Will you join me on an adventure? Love to have you along. Just don’t forget to cover your ears each time I lob a grenade at the political status quo. You can find out more at http://www.joolsking.com

Reading through this novel left shockwaves throughout for me. Never expected to be terrified when medical science is involved. Won't ruin the story for others. If a person likes psychological thrillers with a dash of murder mystery, grab a copy. It's something a person won't regret

- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2024I usually enjoy supernatural books but this one wasn’t for me. I got to the point of no return and felt invested. Had to force myself to finish.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2024I read this is one sitting. Cryonics is an interesting topic in itself, but combined with supernatural phenomenon plus horror and mystery, it’s hard to put down. I received a free advanced reader’s copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2024King launches the reader into the ethical tension of a world with cryonics technology, inviting curiosity, wonder, and disgust in equal measures. Stefan is a fascinating main character, often acting as a stand-in for the reader as we struggle together with the morality of his career. My only dislike was how the women in the novel are described almost exclusively with their sexuality - unless they are older than Stefan, then they don't get mentioned much at all. Regardless, King's writing style is witty and intense, introducing philosophical conundrums and then whipping the plot into action with head-spinning grace.
