My passion is writing! What could be more delicious than inventing new characters and seeing where they take you?
Recently, I was blessed to live in Indiana, a state I shared with many Amish communities. I found the best spices, hot cereal, and good cooking advice at an Amish store not too far away. I've also lived in Honduras and Grand Cayman. Presently, I live in Costa Rica. One of my favorite activities is exploring other cultures. My husband, Paul, and I have two grown children and six precious grandchildren. I love to hole up in our cabin and write -- often with a batch of popcorn nearby. (Oh, and did I mention dark chocolate?) I can often be found walking the beaches of Costa Rica.
I enjoy getting to know my readers, so feel free to write me at: contact@brendamaxfield.com. Join my Newsletter Gang and get the latest news about releases: http://ticahousepublishing.subscribemenow.com Do visit me to learn about all my books. Thank you and Happy Reading!

Thank you so much for penning the words to show the faithfulness of our heavenly father to a broken and grieving heart !! On!y God can mend a heart that feels hopeless and helpless. When it looks like all is beyond repair God steps in and proves His faithfulness just as His word promised!! Praise His wonderful name and again thank you!!! Keep up the good word. God has gifted you!!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2024Elaine is a solver. She says when is a good listener. And she credits God with the solutions. But when she's asked to help with her own sister's grief, she wonders if she is being any help at all. Boaz, her boyfriend breaks up with her at the same time.
Everyone grieves differently depending on many factors. The thing that helped you may not help them. Everyone ones to help Christine and Peter's grief by giving them "advice". Unsolicited advice which doesn't help at all.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2024The author wrote a captivating story that shows how God works things out in love and loss. The story is sad but encouraging and it has a sweet ending.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2024This book was so interesting I couldn't believe how things changed between the sister's.It seemed as though Christina didn't want to do anything but sleep, I felt sorry for Peter he seemed be ignored by everyone. Many couples have lost a child including my own daughter and her husband. The baby boy was a Stillborn. Life has to continue. It was nice when Elaine was dumped by Boaz, thought he was a Jerk. Jonah was a much nicer fellow for her.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2024I've been reading Brenda Maxfield's Amish romance novels for a long time now and have ready every one. I check eagerly every month or two for the latest and always read them the same day. The sweetness, the authenticity of the characters and their lives always fulfills me. This time I couldn't recommend one of her stories more. A difficult topic that she once again handles with empathy and care. I was totally sucked in from the first chapter. Smiling and crying!!
