    🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: This is definitely a me issue - I just wanted a novella that had a happy ending and some extra romance.

    But in prequel world… it was supposed to get me excited to read the book and it did just that. Writing was solid and the two characters seemed fun. Might revisit when I have some reading space.

    To live out a fantasy from a book you write. That’s what I felt reading this novella that introduces Amanda and Jack. She’s at the hotel bar wanting a one night stand and not having luck until she meets a hot Scot (Jack). A fun and sexy night turns into a one night stand she wished for only she’s left wanting more. I’m a fan and can’t wait to read more of their story!

    If you’ve read the other two books in the Love At All Cost series, you are familiar with Amanda. She is outspoken, wild BFF of Becca and Layla. They are all writers and this book finds Amanda a little disappointed after her latest book release. She meets a mysterious man in a bar and decide to have a night of adventure with him. They agree to no names and telling the other nothing about themselves.

    This sets off a long night where they are just free of anything. They traipse all over New York City in various adventures, and eventually find themselves wanting more of the other. It’s pretty much instalove for Jack. Amanda is not looking for any attachment. The bookstore scene was my favorite for the sweet and spice.

    These two were definitely hot and I can’t wait to read their full length novel.

    This is a prequel novella to Unexpectedly Ruined, Irene Bahrd’s new book that comes out January 19. I am so incredibly thankful to be on the ARC team for that one, and they sent us an early copy of the prequel (even if I’m reading it after the release date).

    Maybe in Fifty has perfectly set me up for Unexpectedly Ruined. Jack and Amanda’s chemistry is great, and I can’t wait to see how that grows for them when they (hopefully?) meet again in the next book. Though a quick window into how they met and spent a night together, it is an ideal novella in my eyes.

    The best part is that they don’t even know each other’s names. The mystery adds intrigue but also has my brain flicking through a million different scenarios of what will happen next.

    A very quickly novella that end with a spicy bang and a cliffhanger. This is the prequel to an upcoming book. Two strangers meet and decide to spend the night together. Neither to reveal who they are and keeping it to one night only. But as the night continues they both find themselves wanting to know more. And with that cliffhanger I want to know more!!!

    Absolutely love Amanda and Jack's night together! Irene is a mastermind with her characters! The relationships she create and the chemistry they share in phenomenal. There's so much spice and the perfect blend of plot! You will fall in love with all the characters!
    I love reading Irene's book because I can literally get lost in them. They transfer me to another world where I become completely immersed.
    This is a prequel for Unexpectedly Ruined, but do yourself a favor and read all of Irene's books!

    What a cute ARC, super grateful that I was able to read and review it! I loved getting a glance at Amanda and Jack in this prequel novella to "Unexpectedly Ruined." This novella was a super cute and quick read, the perfect way to finish any reading goals before next year. Amanda is looking for a fun night with no strings when Jack (AKA Hot Scot) finds her alone at the bar. After an exploration of all the city has to offer, they decide to come back to the hotel and explore each other for one night before they go their separate ways. This novella is part of a series but was a great standalone if you only wanted a short read with lots of spice.
