Before Noraa Casi became an author and master meditator, she was a busy tech exec who felt old before her time. Her life glimmered with the trappings of success: an Ivy League education, lucrative career, and gorgeous family. But for all her fortune, Noraa’s world had become a cage of her own making.

Meditation was the key—or sledgehammer—that liberated Noraa and launched her on a mission to bring awareness, empowerment, and fulfilment to as many people as possible.

    “Hacking Menopause” by Noraa Casi is a friendly, nurturing exploration of how meditation/mindfulness and natural/holistic approaches can help women better move through the changes of menopause. Raging hormones and all the rest can bring brain fog, fatigue, lack of focus and so many other symptoms, but they can be alleviated with the right doses of mindfulness, herbs, even breathwork, and other natural remedies. This book could be exceedingly helpful for many women at the menopause stage of life.

    Summary/Review:
    Hacking Menopause is life changing! The author has broken the book into multiple parts. First, she discusses the science behind menopause, then the symptoms of menopause and finally, the research proven holistic strategies to support yourself during menopause. She is not a medical professional, rather a woman who has experienced menopause and so although she doesn’t have scientific evidence other than personal experience, the research she has found is cited in the book. I admired Casi’s skillful use of analogies and the constant humor she used in her narrative. While the writing may not be the most eloquent, the content of the novel left an impact on me. As I begin the early stages of menopause, I found this read enlightened me with greater knowledge, a deeper understanding, and a comforting sense of normalcy. If you are looking for a holistic approach to battling menopause, I highly recommend this read.

    Ladies! OMG, menopause. Ya feel me? sigh...

    Ok, so if you are dealing with this time of life, you probably picked up "Hacking Menopause" out of pure desperation, with a hefty side helping of irrational anger. IYKYK. I found this book to be comforting in its gentle approach to surviving the change. Self-care is queen, including a general acceptance of your body's challenges through meditation, mindfulness, and naturopathic solutions to combat all the symptoms dragging you down. The book focuses mostly on healing your mind and using modern therapeutical techniques to help you manage the bodily issues.

    There is a solid background on the science of menopause and what your entire body and mind are dealing with. For those of us who want to always know why, this inform helps to set the stage for addressing what you are experiencing.

    Highly recommend this book whether you are in menopause or approaching it. Women's health is still very neglected so we need more of this kind of information to educate ourselves.
