Becky deals with ghosts on a daily basis, but she has set some boundaries - her home if off-limits.

A Medium's Thanksgiving Table by Chariss K. Walker is book 2 in the North Carolina Medium's Mystery series. Becky Tibbs is the real deal, a medium who only became aware of her powers when her parents died. Her brother and sister have the same powers but they don't embrace them quite the same way. Becky decides to host Thanksgiving but, far from being gone, her mother keeps popping in to check on her and hand out advice. Will her dinner go as planned or will other departed spirits interfere too? While her siblings do anything they can to ignore the spirits asking for help, when Becky is kidnapped, it's all hands on deck to find her and save her. Her brother Bobby joins forces with Patrick, a detective who has fallen hard for Becky. Hurt when she was kidnapped, Becky needs medical attention quickly or she may die. Can they find her in time?

A Medium's Thanksgiving Table by Chariss K. Walker is a light-hearted tale that has more than one story running through it. We have the main plot, of course, but there are lots of smaller ones too, giving readers plenty to chew over as they read. It is an easy to read, well-written story that romps along at an even and steady pace with plenty of action in it. The characters are wonderful and, although I never read the first book, I don't feel as though there is anything missing - these are probably better read as a series though. A nice story to while away a few hours on a rainy afternoon. I'm definitely looking forward to the next one.

Try to imagine that your beloved parents died--but your Mom is still coming around to micro manage everything! Actually I can--my Mom has threatened to do just that if I ever do anything she doesn't like. Luckily I am not a medium who can converse with and speak to the dead! Becky was having her brother and sister over for Thanksgiving. They could also see and speak with spirits-but fought it tooth and nail. However she decided to do things a bit differently---she had been following a vegan type diet---so no turkey or any other meat........ As in the first book Becky is called on to help various spirits who had to get messages to those still alive---all went well until she was kidnapped and injured. Her brother called on his abilities to try and find her with the help of a police detective. Both of these books are easy reading, delightful and clean. I am now waiting impatiently for the third book in this series!

    The premise behind this story and the morals it speaks of are both very good, but it is written like a brand new author without an editor (or at least someone the author trusts to tell them when the "tone" of a story is off). The four chapters in front of this story were unnecessary because all they did is repeat parts of what happened in the first book. I think this author has great potential if she can trust the right people to guide her.

    The only thing I did not like about this series is that it ended. I love the characters and their growth, I loved the fast-paced action, I loved the home-spun philosophy, I loved the paranormal attributes, I loved the lightness and optimism. Please write more in the series, maybe when Beccky grows up to have a family and then the gifts she finds in her children and how she helps them cope. Or write a series about Suzie, the little girl Becky helped with her gift. I usually don't reread books because there are so many more out there, but I am keeping this set of books to reread someday.

    This book is number 2 in the series. A medium who has come into her powers recently after the death of her parents who passed the gift down the family line . Her brother and sister also have this gift but choose not to use it . But Becky chooses to embrace her gift to help spirits resolve unfinished business and cross over .This book is a clean read.
