Natalia grew up bilingual and spent every summer in a quaint village in Spain with her grandparents and many cousins. She absolutely loves languages and different cultures and studied BA Hons in Modern Foreign Languages at The University of Portsmouth. She's travelled extensively around Latin America and Spain and teaches Spanish after schools clubs. By merging the two experiences, she decided to write bilingual books for children. She's the founder of the independent children's publisher Bilingo Books. As well as publishing bilingual books, she's on a mission to teach kids the importance of being kind to one another, which is why she published her latest book "Kindness Means..." and will soon be available in different languages.

I love that this book describes the feelings of a multicultural and bilingual child. The author also talks about the many Mexican traditions that are so fun to celebrate. It gives insight to how many children feel and how they are also viewed by others. It’s hard to fit in. Some never feel enough of any nationality. But we should remember that they have the best of both worlds. This book embraces the growing number of multicultural and bilingual children in the world. The illustrations are also very colorful and attract the attention of young children.

A lovely book on dual heritage that I personally can relate to. I teach dual immersion, and I'll be reading this to my class (6-7 year olds are still emerging readers and probably can't read this independently). The messaging is lovely and I don't know of another children's book with this unique perspective.

It’s wonderful to read stories like these that represent children from diverse backgrounds. The book provides tools for children who sometimes feel out of place in the two countries that they are from. Being a dual culture kid can be difficult at times and the author captures challenges that arise while also celebrating the enriching experience of being bilingual and bicultural.

It was a charming story and does a great job at having the main character realize both the differences (which can sometimes be embarrassing) but richness of being bi-cultural. The main character’s “abuela” helps navigate this realization. My only added comment is that this book would be better suited for the age range of 6-10 and not as young as 4 (as recommended) due to some more difficult Spanish words for those wanting to read it in Spanish to their child(ren) as well as younger children not grasping the concept of “The Day of the Dead” celebration which is mentioned in the book. Aside from my differing opinion about what age audience the book is appropriate for, I believe it delivers the intent of the author very well! The drawings are excellent and very colorful.

This is a lovely book to help children appreciate their dual-cultural roots. I love the seamless integration of English and Spanish. The pictures are soothing to look at and appropriately colorful and vibrant.
The storyline is believable and appropriate.

This is a thoughtfully written book about what it feels to struggle with your cultural identity when your parents are of different cultural backgrounds. I like how the reader can cone to understand this by reading about the main character’s thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Children who are multicultural will be able to relate to the main character.

What a beautiful and heartwarming book, teaching our children about cultures, languages and most of all - kindness and respect to one another.
The grandma figure is so relatable, wise and lovely - can’t help but put a smile on everyone’s face and reminds us all of our supportive and caring grandmas!
The format is great, given it’s written in Spanish and English, which makes it perfect for those bilingual or learning one of the languages.

As a mother to two bilingual children, I enjoyed this book. I like how it highlighted the difficulty of feeling out of place in a country despite it being part of your heritage.

My daughter of 7 years old enjoyed it very much. The illustrations are nice and colourful. All in all a great addition to any family's library.
