    Admittedly, when I saw this was a kidnapping trope, I had grave reservations. How could I possibly enjoy a book where a vulnerable woman falls for her kidnapper?? After more than a dozen books by this supremely talented wordsmith though, I should know I can trust her with my romantic heart. Because what sounds like kidnapping looks a lot like a knight on a white horse rescuing the damsel.

    The meet cute in this one is charming, entertaining, and hilarious! Bri is a baker, living in a hovel and barely making ends meet. She works for a stingy tyrant but Bri also makes amazing cake creations on the side. When she's at one of her side jobs setting up an elaborate presentation for a private function, Dante has the unmitigated gall to try to snatch a cupcake. Of course our feisty heroine puts him in his place, but she hasn’t seen the last of him.

    You see, Dante falls in love with Bri's cakes, which makes him fall a little bit in love with Bri, and he needs more. So he arranges to whisk Bri away to his exorbitant home in Italy so she'll bake some kind of cake for him every day. The only problem? He forgot to tell Bri, and she and her cat wake up in a different country. However, it isn’t too long before Bri sweetens up to Dante, but then Dante’s world brings danger to Bri, cakes are forgotten, and Dante will do anything to keep Bri safe.

    Forget everything you know about a kidnapping trope and start reading this one immediately! I adore Bri as a heroine. Life has kicked her repeatedly, but she remains true to herself. And Dante, well he can sweep me off to Italy with him anytime. This one is beguiling, humorous, nail-biting, and smexy, and it's guaranteed to make your romantic heart ecstatically happy, so don’t miss it!

    I had to read this book based solely of the cover and I was invested until the end.
    Brianna is a baker and she was asked to make her bestie's wedding cake. Not knowing that the day she was setting up, she would meet the man who would change her life forever. Then we meet Dante, who has a huge sweet tooth. After stealing a few cupcakes and getting Brianna all worked up, he wants her to bake him cakes. Dante is a man that doesn't take NO for an answer and just makes things happen. Brianna is in for a rude awakening is the best way!!

    This was a decent book. I liked the premise, it seemed cute. We just never got very in depth with the characters. Dante was mysterious and it took awhile to find out what his shady dealings were, and even then things were still vague.

    Brianna calling Dante an old man even though he was only 38 was a little much for me. A 12 year age gap isn’t that much when the FMC is already 26. This book just all felt very surface level and as it went on things were just sort of skimmed over.

    I absolutely loved the humor in this. There were many tropes i enjoyed, and it was done in a rom com way I don't typically see. Dante was such a sweet, loving, and generous man to his little bee 🐝 .... I loved the meeting between the two and loved the extended epilogue as well. This author really nailed this book in my opinion. There was steam, soo much humor, and no OW drama.

    They met when she was the cake decorator for his niece’s wedding. As someone with a sweet tooth he becomes obsessed with her confectionery and her sass.

    Chef’s kiss. This story was the cherry on the cake. The right amount of tenderness and heat and that little bit of intrigue and suspense.
