    I really enjoyed this exceptionally well told short story. The characters have emotional depth and the balance between romance and suspense is perfect, even though the latter is slightly predictable, which is to be expected in a novella. Quite simply, it made me smile and is the best short story I've read in awhile. I'll definitely be reading more from this author!

    **Important note: This contains BDSM scenes that protocol purists may balk at but I consider mild enough to be appropriate for readers above the age of consent. The tough vs tender ratio is so perfect it becomes a non-issue. Not every book can be a how-to manual, sometimes it's nice to sit back and enjoy a little kink! ;-)

    There is a lot of hot, kinky sex, perfectly balanced with the suspense. The latter was slightly predictable, but worked out very satisfactorily.
    The characters are well crafted, and I really liked the dynamics between Maddox and Jack. Their dom/sub relationship is not forced but felt completely natural. And between the lines, I could read the development of more romantic feelings.
    If you are not in BDSM, don’t read this book. This is not a “learn to like” BDSM story but from page one full on.
    This book left me wanting for more. I wouldn’t mind reading more about these two men, either in more novellas or an entire novel.

    I like this short story. It moves right along and contains all I needed to sort of feel the characters and the situation but I do have to say I’d have enjoyed it more as one of this author’s regular length stories. There is a story with a few triggers but it is also a story that this author does so well. She can write kink with a story and make me want more, much more.

    Maddox struggles with his attraction to Jack as he cannot believe he feels this way about a criminal. There is a hea which closed the story down without an annoying cliff hanger. Will be looking for more books by this author.
