Monopoly Daddy: M/M Single Dad Billionaire Romance (Blood Brothers Book 2) Kindle Edition
SONNY
The shot to the head that left me looking emotionless doesn’t make me prime boyfriend material, nor does being a killer who comes from a family with a long history of money and crime. But when my daughter gifts me with a dating service, I can’t say no.
I don’t expect anything to come of it--until I meet Richie. But something is going on behind the scenes, and the mob is involved. When it threatens my little girl and the beautiful man I love, I have to let the killer in me take the lead. But will there be anything left to salvage in the end?
RICHIE
Paying the bills as a gossip blogger isn’t easy, but I’d do anything to support my daughter.
When I find out the world's richest criminal has a secret daughter, it's like stumbling on the story of a lifetime, and I don’t hesitate to cozy up with him for a scoop. There's a lot at stake if Sonny finds out what I’m doing, but that isn’t what scares me most. It’s the falling in love part that has me shaking... but will my new romance survive the reveal of my plans?
Will these two single fathers live happily ever after or will their love be what destroys them?
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Monopoly Daddy has "gone gay" and is now an LGBT romance! Previously published as m/f, this series (which was renamed as Blood Brothers to keep things clear) is now LGBT with m/m main characters! This is the way it was originally written, but for marketing reasons was originally published as m/f romance. So happy to have it back to what it was always meant to be--as gay as the fabulous author! ;P

- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2020This is a very entertaining read, one minute you're laughing the next you're crying and it's full of action. Sonny is a very quirky man, once known as Bossman, he is still feared by many in retirement. Because of an incident in his teens his personality is quite different. Rachel is a journalist looking for the next big gossip to bring in good money to support her daughter and what better way than getting the goods in a rich elusive dangerous man? But when Rachel gets to know him she sees the man behind. His daughter Greta is a hoot and Jungle will steal your heart!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2022It's good when an author makes one have strong opinions about the characters. I really liked Sonny and Richie. I really disliked Casey (Richies's daughter); I liked Greta, Jungle, Connor. I hated Sonny's father.
Sonny had many facets to his personality, many related to childhood and parent traumas, Richie had to deal with a bratty daughter and an unpleasant ex. Both men have their baggage but they get together and make a go of a relationship, all the while trying to be the best dads they can be.
Overall, an entertaining story.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2021This was the second book I read in the series, and I love them all so far. Great characters and each one has a humorous side to the them very entaining.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2022I’m sorry , but I find it very hard to believe that Val didn’t know everything about Richie within 30 minutes of seeing him at the FAQ event to share with Sonny. He was there specifically to vet the people there, and Richie was beyond suspicious. Even if not then, as they got more involved, Sonny would have requested a background check. Or, if all else failed, when Sonny met Richie’s friend from college, he, and the Brothers, would have certainly vetted him at that point. Basically, it just wasn’t believable that Sonny didn’t know Richie’s profession.
I liked that Donal seemed to have some sort of comic book idea that he was untouchable, but his end was almost anti-climactic because Sonny didn’t care about being fair, or bragging about his power/influence.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2022I have loved everything Skylar Sweeney has written and Monopoly Daddy has been no different. Once I picked it up, my brain refused to focus on anything other than this book, because her writing is that addictive - filled with hilarious characters and so many twists and turns that you never really know what's going to happen next.
This book picks up right where Heart Thief left off - with Sonny being gifted a dating service by his daughter. He goes and meets with his dating coach, but isn't really committed to any of this. Which turns out to be a good thing, because he soon meets Richie, the father of another girl from his daughter's basketball team and the first person to draw his interest almost ever. The two somehow bond, because Richie isn't put off or unnerved by the way Sonny speaks or his alleged rudeness (caused by an injury to his brain in his youth). However, unbeknownst to Sonny, Richie is a gossip columnist looking for a scoop.
Both characters are great, coming in with some baggage but somehow making their relationship very low angst. They accept each other for who they are - mostly. The times their relationship faces hurdles, they are incredibly realistic and honestly, the reactions felt completely right. They didn't feel overblown for the sake of drama.
Then rounding out the cast we have the occasional cameo from the other Brothers, especially Conner who lives with Sonny. I really wish we would've seen more of them in this book, honestly, because they were some of my favorite parts in the first book and it would've been amusing to see more of them from Sonny's POV.
This book did also offer POV changes outside of Richie and Sonny - primarily in the form of Sonny's daughter and her friend/crush, Jungle, who shares a lot in common with Sonny once we get to know him more.
This book is rife with found family, single dads, and cuteness. There were multiple points that made me laugh out loud. This book is nowhere near as steamy as the first one in this series, but that worked really well for the characters. This book was fun and I cannot wait for the next one in the series.
WARNING: This book contains allusions to childhood sexual abuse and child abuse.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2022ARC received from GRR for an honest review.
Richie needs a big story to get a payday from the rag mag he works at. He's tired of cleaning houses and watching his ex flash his new money. When he gets the opportunity to do a story on Sonny he jumps on it. It isn't long after his first encounter that he realizes that he can't write a story about Sonny. He decides that he'll give dating him a try. It isn't long before he's second guessing that decision.
Sonny is the Bossman. He may be retired but he's no less lethal. He may be the richest man but what's really important to him is his daughter and his brothers. He hasn't felt attracted to anyone since his brain injury, so why is he suddenly attracted to Richie?
I really liked Richie and Sonny together. I felt like Richie saw the real Sonny and he was in their relationship for all the right reasons. I liked the little mystery/intrigue going on in the background; although, I wished that Chris had paid for his crimes. I really liked Greta and Moe but didn't like Casey at all. Hopefully Casey will become a decent person as she grows up, as even at the end of the book she was still a self-absorbed, selfish kid who never really made up to Richie for her hateful behavior. As in book one this book had me lol in many places. I'm really looking forward to reading book three. I hope there's a book for all seven brothers. Highly recommend this book/series to anyone who likes MM romance with mystery/intrigue involved.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hidden Emotions
MM, Dark, Comedy, Suspense, Contemporary, Romance. An easy to read page-turner with great characters and lots of twists and turns throughout. Lots of wit and humour and heat with some violence and dark themes. I thoroughly enjoyed reading their story and believe that the story can be read as a stand-alone with no loss of enjoyment or understanding but that the reading of the series will enhance the experience. Guaranteed HEA.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy Families
This book wasn't just about two people falling in love, this was about their whole families falling, even the adopted ones. I love that these characters are older and more realistic looking.
Can't wait for Connor's story next.

4.0 out of 5 stars Take A Chance On The Monopoly Dad.
I was very intrigued to read more from Sonny Wentworth the Bossman himself since I met him in book 1 of the 7 Single Assassins series.
I was excited to uncover the secrets of the Monopoly Dad.
Sonny comes across as terrifying, and he is for good reason but he's so much more than that.
I loved his aloofness, he comes across as emotionally cold, detached and unapproachable but that's what fascinated me the most. He's different and I loved him for that.
I laughed my Ass off at the witty banter in this book, the humour was infectious. I liked the danger and the tension, the shock factor and the glimpses of Darkness lurking underneath.
I absolutely loved Sonny and Rachel they had fantastic chemistry. Their connection felt real, they were unpredictable, and a little bit vulnerable together, but they worked.
My heart was stolen a bit by Jungle in this story he's so sweet and caring, you just know that kid has been through Hell but he's still a little fighter. I adored him and I'm hoping to see a bit more from him as the series goes on.
I'm excited for book 3 Prince Gigolo, I'm already very curious for what this Author has instore. I'm hooked when it comes these Assassins.
Valentine is still my favourite character, I can't wait until he gets his story.
