I need to buy some stock in a tissue company because whenever I read a Melissa Foster book I usually go through quite a bit, with this book I used an entire box!!! I don't think I was ready for Grant, I knew enough about him to know that this was going to be an emotional read because of his time in the military and being injured but WOW his backstory goes MUCH deeper than that, so much deeper, and I just wasn't prepared for the emotions it drew from me. I think I am going to have to read a rom-com next just to balance things out. 😉 Jules is Little Miss Sunshine, and no I am not be sarcastic when I say that. She brightens up the room when she walks in, everyone loves her, and she has a cheerful personality that you just can't help gravitating towards. I for one would love to be friends with her, she is the person that goes out of her way to make everyone's day better. So isn't it fitting that Miss Sunshine and Mr. Grouch are perfect together, kind of like yin and yang. Melissa Foster has a way of crafting a story that makes us feel as if we are a part of it. As we watch things unfold we have enough of a background on each of the characters that we are invested in their happiness which is why I get so emotional when I read her books. I laugh, I cry, and yes there are even a few times I may have yelled at my kindle, but I know no matter how many obstacles get in their way along their journey in the end we will be gifted with a happy ending. NO SPOILERS but I want to say that one part towards the very end of the book had me in hysterics, if you enjoy practical jokes you are going to love this one! If you like Small Town Romances, Best Friends Sibling Romances, Emotional Reads, Military Romances, Steamy Romances, Age Gap Romances, or Contemporary Romances I highly recommend this book to you.     I absolutely loved My True Love by Melissa Foster; it is an incredible best friends’ little sister love story. It is the second book in her The Steeles at Silver Island series. Melissa Foster continues to prove that she is an amazing storyteller. I could not put My True Love down and I loved every moment on every page. Who doesn't love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I love how Melissa Foster somehow manages to find the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong woman on her own, to balance out her men. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. My True Love is a love at first sight love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. My True Love is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, Melissa Foster did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. My favorite part is how she incorporates the picture on the cover into the love story. My True Love is the story of Grant Silver, former Special Forces and ex-covert operations specialist, and his best friends’ little sister, Jules Steele, owner of the Happy End gift shop. While on his last mission with Darkbird, a civilian company, an IED explodes and Grant is injured, losing his left leg and hearing in his left ear. Grant has turned into a very grumpy man, who is trying to figure out a way to return to his former life. After battling and beating cancer as a child, Jules always has a happy, cheerful disposition, which earns her the nickname, Pixie, or Pix for from Grant. Jules has always had a crush on Grant, her best friend and co-worker’s brother, and was ready to make her move when he was home before his last mission. Then his life changed forever. Grant is haunted by his past, and he doesn’t think that he is worthy of Jules. Following a Halloween party at her family’s vineyard, which Jules invites Grant to and helps him get ready for, where they almost kiss, things slowly change between them. Conversation between Jules and Grant flows so easily, I love the chemistry between them. I love all the little surprise gifts and notes that Jules leaves on Grant’s doorstep. As Jules and Grant spend time together, things change between them. I love the new purpose that Grant finds in his life. Grant has always had a strained relationship with his father. I love when they open up to each other in the emotionally charged, gut wrenching dialogue that transpires between Grant and his parents and the truth that is revealed. I love the plot twist that ends with Grant’s proposal, and I love the ending of their love story. I love how Grant changes because of the love of his “pixie”. One of my favorite parts is how Grant makes Jules’s dreams come true with a surprise trip. I love all the little things that Grant does for Jules to prove his love. My True Love is filled with poignant and bittersweet moments as well as plot twists. I love the characters and the family dynamic in My True Love the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Steele siblings and Grant’s interactions with his siblings, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing and all their pranks. I loved all the characters in My True Love, and I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Who doesn’t love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed My True Love, who doesn’t love a best friends’ little sister love story. Highly recommend this incredible love story and am so looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

    OMG, this book - it stole my heart as well as took me away from reality for awhile!!! I can say that I absolutely love Melissa Foster's book, but this one just absorbed me into it!! I literally lost track of time and found myself invested in the story!! This book is lengthy at 424 pages, yet I felt like it ended too quickly! I wanted more and didn't want to leave Silver Island!
    Grant is out wounded, emotionally and physically, hero who is used to saving people but needs saving now. Even if it is from himself. Grant has a complicated relationship with his father, which affects his whole family. So, he joined the military to find a meaningful purpose to his life. He excelled at it and became special forces, which put him in danger on a daily basis. On his last mission he encounters and IED, that causes him to lose part of his leg and hearing in one ear. This basically ends his military career and leaves him in limbo.
    Jules is the youngest Steele sibling. She's also a childhood cancer surviver, which makes her appreciate life much more then the average person. She is literally a ray of sunshine to everyone she encounters. She's also had a massive attraction to Grant for the last few years when he flirted with her before leaving on his last mission. Jules runs her own shop on the island. She loves Silver Island and never wants to leave. She also wants everyone to be happy and enjoy their lives. She has made it her mission to get Grant to become more apart of his family and the island. She also wants him to be happy. She initially does this to help her best friend Bellamy, who is also Grant's little sister.
    I LOVED Jules, so much!!! I think this world would be a MUCH better place if we had people like her around! She always looks for the silver lining in every situation and usually finds it.
    Grant stole my heart, not just because he lost so much physically, but because he lost his purpose in life - or so he felt. He was so angry and lost. I wanted to help him as much as Jules did!! He had such a big heart, but it was buried under all the chaos that was going on in his mind and body. It was beautiful to see him let Jules in and revel that big heart of his!
    I loved Jock and Daphne so much and thought it would be almost impossible to top them and their love story. Boy was I wrong!!! Grant and Jules surpassed them by leaps and bounds!!!! I still love Jock and Daphne, but Grant and Jules touched me so deeply that I'm going to have a book hangover!!
    It was fantastic to revisit with all of the Silver Island residents. Jock, Daphne, and little Hadley. The whole Steele family - especially Archer. The Silver family and learning their whole dynamic. The bra brigade. Meeting Saul and his wife, the cookie lady. All the shop owners. I absolutely want to live on Silver Island!!!!
    I highly recommend this book to everyone - but you really need to read Tempted by Love first, so you have a better idea who everyone is on the island.
    Thank you Melissa for sharing your talent with the rest of us, you amaze me with every book!! Now, I want Archer's book!

    My True Love is such a beautiful read. I love Jules so much. She is a ray of sunshine spreading happiness where ever she can. Then there is Grant, he is gruff and a little angry. You get why he is once you get to know him and what he has lost in his life and the picture of his family life growing up. There is such a sweet, sexy chemistry between Grant and Jules. I love how Jules pushes Grant out of the dark and becomes his guiding light. You will giggle, swoon and fan yourself when it comes to Grant and Jules. You may even shed a tear or two when it comes to the community and families on Silver Island. I loved this one so much. Grant and Jules stole my heart.

    I’m not sure how she keeps all of these amazing characters straight but she does it and it just amazes me!
