Nate: An Enemies to Lovers Standalone Kindle Edition
He was also the person who could destroy my world with a single decision.
I walked into that bar looking for him.
He saw me. I saw him.
The chemistry sizzled between us, but no.
I hated Nate Monson.
I hated him with everything in me, even though my body did not.
It didn't matter.
Nothing I wanted mattered.
He thought I wanted to get laid.
What I wanted was for him to disappear.
But first, I had to tell him that he had a daughter.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 12, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseNate is part of Fallen Crest, while the others got there HEA, Nate knew that with his past he couldn’t love, he could feel but not love except for his friends.
Quincy knew that they were taking a chance, but her father said that it was time, Nate had to be told about his daughter and hopefully get him to sign away his rights. What Quincy didn’t expect was Nate to fight for her. Demanding to see her and not letting her father control things.
Seeing Nate with his daughter for the first time, Quincy knew she couldn’t try to take her away from him, he was meant to be a father. What surprised her more was what Nate offered her, she could live with him and his daughter to help smooth the transition, she could choose to be part of her life or not.
Nate doesn’t know what to do with all the feelings he’s having, so he asks advice and he realises that he’s never been direct with Quincy, he’s assumed she knows how he feels. Before Nate gets a chance to tell her that chance is taken away, when he hears what Quincy thinks he knows if he wants to keep her he has to be clear about things and make sure – as his friend advised him, clean the jar and make it shine.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2023Format: KindleVerified PurchaseTo read about Fallen Crest and the gang of three and more is to love them. The original group of Fallen Crest men who were in the in group was Mason, Logan and Nathaniel aka Nate. This group of guys were who everyone women wanted to be with and who every guy loved to hang with. I don't understand how I did not read about Nate and Quincey's story. I am so glad I was able to read about Nate and Mason and Logan. This story opens up with Quincey and her father Duke Royas to get Nate to sign over the parental rights of a daughter he didn't know he had to Quincey. She couldn't go through with what her father wanted her to do, besides, they didn't actually know who Nate was and the connections he had. Mason was a well know football player, Logan was the lawyer you did not want to mess with and then there was Channing the head of a MC gang who were not to be messed with. Then we have Matteo and Aspen and her husband Blaise De Vroe. Not to mention the families of all these men. Anyways it was plan that had failure written all over it to begin with. I really got upset with Quincey at times because it would seem she didn't understand what seemed to be happening with Nate. What man moves you into his house with his daughter and asks only that you care for his daughter. Perhaps, she should have guessed after a while that Nate would eventually put her out or make a move on her. Her is the gist of it. Valerie, Quincey's sister had a daughter and she named Nathaniel Monson as the father on the birth certificate. As soon as Nate found out Nova was his daughter, he demanded to see her, and he wanted a DNA test done. So, Nova is at the center of this story. Valerie names her sister Quincey, who is a professional ballerina, her guardian and Nate who is the father. It takes a lot to explain. Valerie was married to Nico who was an abusive man, and he wasn't Nova's father so when she died in a car accident, she had written who she wanted to care for her daughter and who Nova's real father was so begins Nate and Quincey and of course, little Nova's story. I loved it and I am getting ready to read Aspen and Blaise's story next. Of course, I would highly recommend this story by Tijan. I loved anybody having to do with Fallen Crest original players, that includes, Mason, and Logan and Nate and anybody else in their circle of friends and family.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseIf you're a fan of the Fallen Crest High series, Nate is a book you have been waiting a long time for. Or at least I have been. I've always been curious about Mason and Logan's best friend. He went through some STUFF with them and I was curious what went on in his mind. I also wanted him to find a love like Mason and Sam or Logan and Taylor. To say I was excited to get Nate would be an understatement. Did Nate live up to my expectations? That's a harder question to answer than it should be.
Reading Nate was exciting. I loved where Tijan took the drama. It wasn't what I expected. There was a family feud like in the other Fallen Crest High books, but it wasn't with Nate's family. It all revolved around his daughter and the mother's side of the family. It wasn't the same old drama and I appreciated that. Things were handled in a more grown up way, too. It was nice to see the maturity of Tijan's original characters as they are now adults.
Tijan says in the back of the book that Nate took a long time to speak to her. This comment resonated with me thinking back on this book. To be completely honest, Nate didn't have the emotional pull of Mason, Logan, or any of the other guys from Fallen Crest High related books. I loved that he felt an instant love for his daughter and how his love for the person he falls for developed over time. I enjoyed (as always) the comradery between Nate, Mason, and Logan. The moments between Nate and his friends were where his character seemed to flesh out the most. There was something missing, though. I think part of that is that Nate drops us into his adult life. He's grown up and we get some talk of his teenage years, but I think I needed a little something from that time to tie who he was into who he is now. I guess I've always just wondered what was going on with him inside his head and I didn't get as much as I wanted with that. What I did get was a look into who Nate became. I liked adult Nate.
As for that love interest... I'm not telling. I know there will be some spoilers on who she is, so you can get them elsewhere. I liked her for the most part. She wasn't what I was expecting. There were some weird vibes that I won't explain and didn't love, but her story combined with Nate's worked for me. They had an instant chemistry and I enjoyed the build up of their relationship.
Nate's daughter was super cute. For those who don't like kids in books -- she didn't overwhelm the story. She fit right in at the right moments. I liked how her addition to Nate's life changed his outlook.
I want to go back and comment on the whole friendship aspect of this book. There were a lot of moments with Mason and Logan and the others, but they didn't take over Nate's story. They added to it. We got the fun, the humor, the cockiness, and the SBC -- basically everything you would want to see from them all together. Those moments were priceless and made me hope that we'll get more novellas or books about these characters in the future. Heck, I'm still holding out hope for a Matteo/Grace book.
My overall thoughts on Nate are that I liked reading it a lot. I don't know how other fans of the original series are going to feel about this book, but I thought it was fun and unique enough while staying within the FCH feel. I wouldn't say I fell head over heels for it, but it was addictive. There a couple of cringe worthy things, but they didn't break the book for me. Anyways. I liked it. I would rate it somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchaseNate was always that character that was there but you never felt like you knew him. In every book he was just part of the team but not part of the team. He was the best friend and brother but also not always included. This book was so great because you got to know him. You got to see behind the stoic character and understand how he could be who he was. Don’t get me wrong I totally loved Quincy and my heart both broke and warmed when it came to her. Following their story and seeing how things developed made me fall for both of them! I am so thrilled this was added to the series and am excited for the next binge so I can fall in love with all the characters all over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tijan ist die Beste

5.0 out of 5 stars A incredible story for an incredible and favorite character
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseSpanish & English Opinion :: 5🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭
ESP ::
ENG ::
Fallen Crest universe is one of my favorites. Nate is an important character from the start and to get his story so long after the first book led to expectations. Important ones, since he is a book boyfriend of many (including me).
I don’t think there could have been a better story. A better way to make this character justice and to give him the main spot in a better way. With everything he thinks, he loves, he does. And Quincey is just a lovely addition. She’s a great heroine, different, special, with depth and interesting personality.
Together they are fire and the circumstances that surround them are original, different, unexpected. All of this, surrounded by the characters of the Fallen Crest world that we love so much.
Thanks Tijan for always deliver incredible, original, different stories. Even without reading the previous books, this one is lovable and has everything to be a favorite one by itself.
An absolute recommendation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI waited so impatiently for Nate’s story to come out and now on the release date, I’ve gone and read the whole thing in one read. Very delightful. My favourite part of the story is when Nate meets Nova for the first time and how they just look into each other and just know. I also loved how Mason just went to Nate in the beginning. I also liked how this story shows how time has passed.
Loads of cameos here. What’s the update on Mason and Sam’s kid or kids??
