- Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2025I found “Graphic Designer – The Next Level” to not just be another design manual—instead, it’s a refreshingly honest look at what it means to be a creative in today’s high-pressure world. Let’s face it, the tight deadlines aren’t going away any time soon––There’s always the pressure to perform better, faster while staying under budget.
It's important to note that the author brings over two decades of experience to this transformative guide––He blends hard-earned design wisdom with mindfulness, balance, and emotional insight. From tackling imposter syndrome to mastering the psychology of color, Manni introduces a holistic framework that’s equal parts creative and practical. His step-by-step methodology—incorporating breathing, visualization, and mindset tools—offers a new lens for approaching both design and life; in the fast-paced world of a creative, that information is golden.
Whether you’re a seasoned designer feeling burnt out or a student navigating your path, this book delivers more than strategies—it delivers clarity. If you want to find more joy, purpose, and peace in your work and life, this book shows you how.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2025I picked this up as a gift for a friend who’s been freelancing in design and slowly losing her mind. I figured maybe this would help her chill out, and I ended up reading half of it myself before wrapping it. It’s got this super calming vibe and actually gives real tips for not just designing better stuff, but feeling better while doing it. Some parts do go in circles a bit, like yeah okay I got the point the first time, but it still felt like a much-needed deep breath in book form. Might even borrow it back from her when she’s done.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2025As someone who’s been in the design trenches for years, this book really hit home. It’s not just about layouts and colors—it dives deep into the mental and emotional side of being a creative professional. Marco’s insights on burnout, imposter syndrome, and finding joy again were game-changing for me. I especially loved the breathing and visualization exercises—they help me reset when I’m stuck. This isn’t your typical design manual—it’s a much-needed companion for anyone trying to stay sane while doing creative work.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2025Marco Manni’s Graphic Designer / The Next Level Using Innovative Holistic Methodology on Design and Life is a solidly created and designed book, so he's practicing what he preaches. The main message is having a multidimensional approach to life to become a better designer and better everything else. The artist's journey is another interesting part of this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2025Designers who are struggling or stuck into the way of doing their jobs or amateurs like me who use design into their daily jobs will find useful this book. The author masterfully teaches who to succeed at managing clients, people, deadlines and expectations. The book is designed, so other designers, no matter their backgrounds or experiences, can be inspired by a practical methodology so they can find fulfillment and excitement in their jobs. I also really enjoyed the design on the book, with bright colors and creativity.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2025This book really surprised me in the best way. Graphic Designer - The Next Level isn’t just about design tips or creative hacks—it goes way deeper. Marco Manni brings something fresh to the table: a blend of design, psychology, and mindfulness that actually feels doable and useful. I’ve dealt with burnout and creative blocks before, so I found myself nodding along through a lot of it.
I liked that it wasn’t preachy or overly technical. It felt like advice from someone who’s been in the trenches—someone who gets the pressure we’re under to constantly perform and create. The breathing and visualization exercises seemed odd at first, but they ended up helping more than I expected. It’s a reminder that taking care of your mind is just as important as sharpening your design skills.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2025Marco Manni’s Graphic Designer The Next Level is visually stunning and intellectually enriching. This beautiful design expertly weaves together practical graphic design knowledge (color palettes, typography, white space) and profound thoughts on well-being. The authenticity of Manni’s personal journey deepens the work, uniting creative skills and spiritual understanding. The book's transformative message is so inspiring, it's a must-read for designers and anyone striving for greater creativity and life fulfillment.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2025First of all, I have to say this is one of the most beautifully designed books I’ve ever seen—and I worked in publishing, so I’ve seen quite a few books. Plus, to have this beauty even come through in an ebook version is quite a feat.
Marco Manni’s message in “Graphic Designer / The Next Level Using Innovative Holistic Methodology on Design and Life” is very important: to have a holistic, multidimensional approach to life will not only make us better designers but also will lead to greater happiness and overall fulfillment.
I really appreciate learning about the author’s journey to becoming a designer and then about his spiritual/philosophical path. The actual design applications are both interesting and enlightening, specifically the ones on color palettes, fonts, and white space. I also like the sections on inspiration and visualization.
The book does need some proofing/editing to make the flow of words as lovely as the design. I would recommend having that done and then putting the book up again. But readers should still get it in the meantime as it’s quite profound and could be transformational for some.

5.0 out of 5 stars What you need
I am a designer with over 5 years experience. I'm reading this book now and am pleasantly surprised by the level of information. A lot of what I used to gather in bits and pieces on the Internet, here is collected in one place and set out in simple and understandable language. I especially liked the parts about inner state, balance and breathing practices - they are rarely talked about in design, but here it is presented very appropriately.

5.0 out of 5 stars Saved My Sanity (And My Deadline)
I grabbed this between frantic client emails, convinced I was about to implode from sheer stress. By chapter two I was doing those weird breathing-visualization drills in my chair—my heart actually slowed down—and by chapter four I was giggling at how colors mess with my mood (who knew my red logo was stressing me out?). I ended up ditching my late-night cramp sessions and actually slept before that looming deadline. Marco isn’t just preaching design theory—he’s handing you a survival kit for this crazy creative grind. My brain feels less fried, and my work’s never looked sharper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Congratulations, a valid manual
I read the book in general, but of course I have to study it calmly and apply it progressively. A very valid and exhaustive guide with many practical and accessible tips and suggestions. In the book there are many examples of creative and professional graphics to take inspiration or better understand the concepts and techniques. A reading that I recommend to those who love graphics or to those who want to understand more and those who want to become more passionate.

5.0 out of 5 stars actually great and helpful
As a starting designer I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It gets into some design basics, but also simply how to be a good designer and not get overwhelmed or stumped. To boot, the book itself is also just well designed and a pleasure to read. Definitely recommended, even if you're not really into design but perhaps just into marketing.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than a design manual—it’s a toolkit for staying inspired and balanced.
Marco Manni’s 'Graphic Designer – The Next Level' stands out as a grounded and thoughtful guide for creative professionals who are looking for more than just technical improvement. Written by a seasoned designer with over two decades of experience, the book explores the intersection between design skills and personal well-being. It's a practical, honest, and refreshingly human take on what it means to thrive as a graphic designer in a demanding, fast-paced field.
What makes this book different is its holistic approach. Rather than focusing solely on technique or aesthetics, the author encourages readers to think about how their mental and emotional state affects their creative output. He tackles subjects that are often left out of traditional design resources, like imposter syndrome, burnout, and the ongoing pressure to stay “original” under tight deadlines.
The methodology presented here is unique but grounded and introduces a structured process that incorporates mindfulness techniques, breathing exercises, and visualization practices. These aren’t presented as vague self-help suggestions—they're integrated into the design workflow in a way that makes them feel useful and adaptable. The book’s tone is calm and measured, reflecting the author's clear intention to help designers slow down, refocus, and find clarity in their work and lives.
From a technical standpoint, the book doesn't neglect core design principles. It includes clear, well-organized sections on typography, composition, color theory, and user experience, but always within the broader context of emotional impact and personal meaning. The discussion about the psychological effects of fonts and colors, for example, is one of the more nuanced and useful treatments of that topic in recent design literature.
The layout and visual presentation of the book itself reinforce its message. It’s crisp, modern, and easy to navigate. High-quality images—both inspirational and instructional—accompany the text throughout, making it visually engaging without overwhelming the content. This thoughtful design reflects the author’s understanding of how layout can support learning, rather than just decorate the page.
Importantly, the author doesn’t pretend that there’s a one-size-fits-all formula for success in the creative industry. Instead, he provides a flexible framework that encourages designers to define success for themselves. Whether you’re a student just entering the field or a seasoned professional navigating career shifts, the book offers perspectives and exercises that feel relevant and supportive.
