- Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2025Quirky and funny. Was an enjoyable read, I look forward to read more.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 30, 2024Overall score 4.8/5
Brilliantly done at the very beginning. I have a strong love for necromantic characters. The author does a wonderful job at bringing one to life at the very beginning. The story is fast paced, light hearted, and fun. Making it a unique and enjoyable experience the entire time.
Style Score 5/5
The author has a flare for bringing the world to life in an amusing way. Introducing concepts that are understandable, relatable, and entertaining all at the same time. Well, unless you happen to hate cats, I guess.
Story Score 5/5
The story is well crafted and clearly thought out. Each chapter is a fun ride in silly hijinks that only a nekomancer could contrive.
Grammar Score. 4/5
As far as I could ascertain there was no major spelling or grammar error. Sentence structure was great, and the author maintains tense. If there were any mishaps I didn't notice them. Probably due to how enthralled I was with the story.
Character Score 5/5
The main character is instantly likeable. Painted as someone who is a bit of a bumbling fool that isn't quite so lucky. Generally well meaning but clearly misunderstood. Definitely one of the more entertaining MC's out there.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2025The world building is good but not the focus. This is a character driven plot, and I'm here for it. Lots of plot twists and humor. Fast paced and never boring or overwrought. A good read all around.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2025Wonderful read. Simply guy busting humor and references to so many things. Just the crab fight was missing knives … though the mana blasts were ok 😂🔪🔪🔪
- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2024If you've read other books by Dungeon Ducky, you can expect plot twists, unique characters and settings. But unlike their other books this one has ... Humor as well.
Not a progression tale where in two chapters the main character is god tier powered, oh no, this character gets stomped on at every turn by the gods (and other less than helpful beings) and robbed of many advantages. But that twist makes this story very interesting, and worth your time.
I look forward to seeing what new (mis)adventures this group gets up to.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2024Was a god story and funny at times. Some off handed references to anime was kind of funny too.
Now for book 2
- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2025I got some “Two Necromancers, a Bureaucrat, and an Elf (The Unconventional Heroes Series Book 1)” vibes from this book and because of that I really wanted to like this book. The comedy was good and the plot with the trials was fine.
The Geas thing really turned be off because the relationships were abusive and unhealthy. (I get that this is the point of the story, I just didn’t enjoy reading about it.). I think we could have gotten to the same point without the slavery dynamic and I don’t see myself continuing the series.
I think Schrödinger the cat will be fine. The glitter was funny.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2024A very chill read, the comedy is great and light hearted, anyone looking for a fun and chill read should check this out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny and easy to read
A lighthearted read with an interesting premise, easy enough to understand while not feeling simple. Can’t wait for the second book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow an unexpected surprise
Its a good, very funny read, a surprising 5 star rating from me, much much better than i expected, i actually laughed at some points. Definitely worth reading... the author isnt afraid to throw distractions to taunt the reader , and the protagonist is grounded and isnt afraid to run away, or win by 'cheating'' not risking himself if he possibly can . The world(s) is even quite complex. i do wonder at the future of the underlaying oubouros theme.
