The Nephilim’s Touch Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 253 ratings

Hex, Indiana is the one place Gabe has found acceptance as a nephilim. He keeps his head down and enjoys his work at the one bar in town while making sure stray feathers don’t find their way into the wrong hands. Tending his beloved plants helps him stay busy, but he longs for someone to care for.

Van knew better than to go after the king of crossroads. Their battle ripped a hole in the veil and sent Van to a strange town in the human world to bleed out when his healing magic failed. Just as he thinks it’s lights out, the most beautiful angelic creature approaches him. Demons, especially crossroads demons, aren’t supposed to get attached. But his rescuer has the softest touch and the sweetest voice. Perhaps Van can take a little break from trying to become king of the crossroads demons.

The Nephilim’s Touch is a standalone MM romance novel as part of the multi-author collaboration Tales from the Tarot. This book is based on the major arcana card, The Consort (Empress).

I’m Morgan. Fantasy romance and romcom is my jam.

I’ve always been a reader and a daydreamer. My writer origin story is embarrassing now that I think about it. But also kinda funny, maybe. One day I might share. If people ask nicely. It involves a psychic. (He's cool though).

I share an apartment with my sister in Southern Indiana where we keep the AC on year round and spend all our money at Target and weekly pizza. Okay, actually my sister spends all her money on K-Pop CDs (YES, CDs) and I spend all my money on books and writerly stuff.

This is my first Nephilim book, and I absolutely loved it. Gabe is a cutie pie, and Van (while being prickly) is a golden retriever. I will definitely be coming back to this author.

The Nephilim’s Touch is the 8th book in the multi-author series Tales From The Tarot and it serves to represent the Consort/Empress Card in the Major Arcana. The Empress when in the uptight position is associated with someone who is loving and nurturing. The upright position of The Empress indicates beauty and comfort and femininity, and is associated with the earth element. In the reverse position it indicates a loss of self, due to an individuals dependence on others and a lack of self worth.

Gabe has felt out of place his entire life, never fitting in the human world and not understanding what it means to be a Nephilim since his experience with angels was limited to less than a handful of meetings with his mother. Gabe is kind and caring, he has a way about him that makes others feel calm and happy, which makes him the perfect person for the quick to anger crossroads demon whose selfish decisions have been consequential to everyone he cares about except for himself. Van needs to make life changes and he needs to make them quickly. His time with Gabe begins to give him a new perspective on the world around him, helping him understand the importance of taking accountability for his actions and take consideration to the feelings of others.

The fluff in this book was quite refreshing, in comparison to some of the more darker themes book in this series. I really enjoyed the sweetness of Gabe and how judgment free he is towards those around him. Gabe is a great representation of The Consort, and I am so happy that as the book foes on he realizes that he is able to accept is true self and find someone who loves him for who he is. I loved how much Van’s character evolved from someone who thought they were meaning well but not thinking about how his actions affected others, to really taking consideration of those around him. Other viewed Van as difficult, and in ways he is when it comes to the rigidly of this worldview, but his his intentions were good.

This short and sweet read is definitely worth the read if you are looking for something that will make you feel good and lighthearted.

I truly enjoyed the author's writing style. I felt connected to the MCs and wanted to know more about the supporting characters.

While this got off to a good start, the overall story lacked depth and would've benefitted from being novel length. I wanted to see more about Gabe and Van's growing relationship. I also wanted to see Gabe learning about his nephilim self. Instead, it felt like he knew nothing one day and everything the next. In the end, I didn't get how Van's singular action showed he'd learned his lesson. That said, I liked the basic story, and Gabe and Van were absolutely adorable!

I loved The Nephilim's Touch by Morgan Lysand. It's part of the multi-author series, Tales From the Tarot. I loved Gabe and Van’s story! I loved their chemistry and hot scenes. I loved how they both helped each other learn to accept themselves, Gabe with his nephilim powers and Van with being less selfish. I loved that Gabe tried to teach Van how to knit and when that didn't work, Van asked how to care for Gabe's plants. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I enjoyed the story - Hex is a haven for all supes - including Gabe (Nephilim), who moved there after losing his dad. He is such a sweetheart; he opens his home to Van (x-roads demon), who needs to learn a few lessons in anger management, responsibility (to name a few). Van means well, but his actions have consequences. With Gabe, he sees another side to dealing with things and eventually learns to be better. There is fun, humour, heat and no angst. a delightful story.
The secondary characters are well rounded - they have their own stories in other books (I will be looking those up).

Zachary Zaba is a very good choice for the characters - he is able to distinctly voice each character with ease, even throwing a slight accent (Irish?) for the magic shop owner. Well worth the 3.5 hour listen.

I loved Gabe and Van. They were both on their own journey to learn to embrace their true selves, and it was perfect timing that had Van running into (landing on) Gabe. They really brought out the hidden parts of each other and allowed them to shine. This was a fantastic addition to this multi-author series.

I really enjoyed Gabe and Van's story.
    Both are struggling with life.
They're really very sweet, caring, and protective of their people but especially with each other.
Together, they help each other find acceptance.

Gabe is a nephilim, that has hid his nephilim side. Can is a crossroads demon, that has gotten into trouble. They meet when Van is stripped of his powers when he breaks the rules and must learn to not let his temper get away from him. Gabe teaches Van patience, and Van teaches Gabe how to be true to himself, all the while falling in love with each other.

    I really enjoyed this book.
