Nerdy Talk: An Opposites Attract Gay Romance Kindle Edition
Who will come out on top!
Micah
For the last several years I haven’t felt very confident, my ex made sure of that. Working in a medical lab can make it easy to hide. When my flirty new coworker bursts onto the scene, he's the distraction I don't need. I'm content to come in and do my job, but he's determined to insert himself into my life. He’s exhausting, yet funny, and makes me feel wanted. Am I ready to feel attractive again?
Lucas
I moved here for my sister and my family. When Thalia got sick, she became my world. I knew I’d do anything to take care of her, even taking a job outside of my comfort zone. When I meet Micah and we almost share a night of passion, I’m convinced meaningless hookups are no longer what I want. The problem is convincing him to want the same. There’s something about him that I want to protect. My dirty lab puns and nerdy talk might drive him a little crazy, but I’m determined to win him over.
Nerdy Talk is an Opposites Attract, Nerd/Playboy romance with lots of laboratory references and a nosy well-meaning best friend. It’s Nerdy, it’s deep, it’s sexy and extra sweet.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2022I was anxiously waiting Nerdy Talk's release, and I was not disappointed. I am a sucker for nerds. And nerds being flirty and lovey, even better.
This was really fun, set in a hospital lab. Both Lucas and Micah are lab techs, but after a chance encounter before they start working together, things get a little awkward.
Micah is this grumpy, stand-offish guy, except you know it's because he's been hurt and he's trying to protect himself. Even at his worst, I just wanted to hug him
Lucas is the perfect sunshiny flirty boy who is the perfect opposite to Micah. It was really fun watching Lucas pester Micah. Lucas's relationship with his sister is the sweetest thing ever and I adore them.
Lilly, Micah's best friend is pushy and meddling, but a really fun character.
There was so much to lover about this story, but Micah and Lucas- their chemistry, tension, and when they finally give in (HOT!!) Lucas is really great with Micah and they balance each other really well.
I highly recommend Nerdy Talk!

- Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2022I liked how Lucas was into Micah pretty much from the get go. There was no cheating and the ex never showed up.
I understand that emotional abuse takes time to heal and that Micah was in that process but it was a little annoying with him being hot then cold to Lucas. I know his reactions were probably realistic I just wished there was a little less talk of him dealing with his past abuse and a little more focus on the healing.
That said, once Micah got some clarity on what a good person Lucas was it was a sweet romance. I wouldn’t have said no to a little more focus on the falling in love feelings or more cuddling but I am a cuddle monster so that just may be personal preference.
The spicy scenes were medium heat but well written and well placed. They enhanced the story without trying to overtake it.
This was good enough I want to read more by this author and see how that goes.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2022This was a strange book to read. I started out disliking one of the MC’s Micah and his really anoying best friend Lilly. The other MC Lucas was a sweetheart, and he kept me reading. I’m glad I did!
The second half of the book was much better than the first, and I ended the book in a positiv mood. 3 stars 😊
- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2022This is the third story I've read by Joelle Lynne and it's easily my favorite! (5 Stars!)
Things I liked about this story:
-I love Micah and Lucas' meet cute.
-Lucas was sexy and charming and unashamed of who he is.
-The side characters
-The heavier topics handled with low angst.
(Thank goodness, I did not want to cry today.)
After discovering they work together, the story starts off with a slight enemies-to-lovers vibe that I loved.
I found myself giggling over Lucas and his nerdy talk. (Seriously, Lucas can talk about wet slides and swimmers to me any day!!)
I found my self smiling to all the teasing and banter, Lilly's antics and Lucas's charming ways. Oh and let me mention I
adored Lilly! She was the perfect blend of bestie meets meddling troublemaker.
Things I need from Joelle Lynne in the future:
- Omg can Trevor please please please get his own romance? I LOVE HIM!
- More books!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2022This story is so sweet. I love the idea of nerdy love, nerd squared? Lol. But it was a great read. The characters were wonderful. Feeling past hurt/current challenges is so real, but they have so much sweet & kind love and passion, it really makes the story feel real. I love their meeting and then the reality of them find that they have to work together. Their chemistry is off the charts and its the wait—so worth it. I enjoyed Joelle’s writing. Id definitely recommend this read!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2022I am so in love with this story. Micah and Lucas have such a cute relationship and their story is wrapped in a heart-warming package that packs some steamy moments. Joelle does a great job with the banter, making each character seem like real people.
The two MCs start off pretty rocky after their first meeting, but the tension quickly turns into a sizzling relationship that you just want to read more about. There are some more serious topics discussed in the novel, but overall it's pretty low-angst and an enjoyable read that I tore through in like a day. Can't wait to see what Joelle brings us next!

- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2022I love competence porn, so having a romance with coworkers (equal level, so minimal power differential) was enjoyable for glimpses of their lab work. Things were rocky for longer than in most romances, which made sense once the reader learns about Micah's previous relationship. Thalia (Lucas' sister) is a great secondary character, though I'm not convinced that the nurse subplot was entirely necessary.
An enjoyable read!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2022A cute, fun and emotional story. Co worker romances are always interesting and entertaining and this one was OK. I had some issues with Micah hot and cold reactions to Lucas. I know Micah's past issues came to play with his behavior but I was little frustrated with his attitude. Lucas was a little flirty but not overly flirty. Lucas determination to be Micah's friend despite his constant rejection was commendable when other people might have given up. There was a strong connection between the two and even though it was a slow burn, their get together was very HOT. I thought it would be more hilarious banter and I stopped a lot and came back to reading until the very end. Nice ending for the guys.

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant read!
I am so in love with Micah and Lucas. They are seriously couple goals.
Micah is a cute nerd whose ex did a number on his confidence and self worth. Lucas has the whole sexy, pierced, bad boy look going on but he is a loveable sweetheart.
I loved how Lucas encouraged and supported Micah without ever treating him like glass.
I loved every interaction between the two of them.
I loved Micah and how amazing he does considering how his ex was.
I loved the lab talk and how it was written made me feel smart even though I have no medical training.
I loved the power cut.
I loved the parents.
I loved Lilly and Thalia. OMG I want more of them as besties some day.
I loved the spic and I definitely loved the romance.
I loved how this how book was written. It's low angst but full of emotion.
I loved how hot Lucas was and how cute Micah is.
So basically I loved everything. I know this is a very gushy review but once you read it, you'll totally understand and gush too!
