4.4 out of 5 stars 32 ratings

Who do you trust when everyone has something to hide?

Detective Inspector Ashley Goodman needs a big case to put her career back on track. And they don’t come much bigger than Miles Birchill, Downland’s wealthiest and most divisive resident.

When the body of a murder victim, killed ten years earlier, is found on land he once owned, she’s ready to cuff him and make an arrest.

Only he’s Kent Fisher’s father.

And she enlisted Kent’s help with the cold case.

While Kent has his doubts, who can he trust when everyone is hiding something?

Determined to solve the murder, he battles on, unaware his every move is being watched by those who don’t want him to succeed.

If you enjoy reading fresh and exciting murder mysteries with a distinctive sleuth, memorable characters and complex, twisting plots, the Downland Series may be just what you’re looking for?

With contemporary themes and characters, irreverent humour and a touch of romance, the Downland Murder Mysteries bring a fresh twist to the classic whodunit.

By combining my love of crime fiction with my experiences as an environmental health officer, my murder mysteries are for readers who like to curl up with a cosier, entertaining type of crime novel, filled with characters they can grow to love.

The series should appeal to readers who like authors such as Richard Osman, Elly Griffiths, Agatha Christie, Clare Chase or Sue Grafton.

Environmental health officer Kent Fisher faces a double dilemma when Detective Inspector Ashley Goodman ropes him in to help with an unsolved murder. Discovering the DI has Kent’s own father in her sights as the killer, the amateur sleuth must work out who’s telling the truth. But with a possible new romance on the horizon, Kent must take a good look at himself too, and his own motivations for keeping secrets.

‘No More Lies’ is the fourth book in the Kent Fisher Mysteries series and like all the others, it’s a cracking good read. Though you might think the world of environmental health would be limited when it comes to dead bodies turning up, Robert Crouch never lets his imagination get out of hand, laying down clever clues to keep his readers guessing about the killer’s identity. Balancing a thirst for passion with a desire to learn the truth, the hero races to fit the pieces together before it all goes belly up at the final furlong. And in Kent Fisher’s case, the end could be very final indeed.

Another triumph for Robert Crouch in this canny and crafty murder mystery series.

No More Lies is the fourth novel in the Kent Fisher Mysteries Series. I give this novel a strong 4/5 stars. The plot was well executed. I didn't find any plot holes, and I was entertained throughout most of the story. This isn't my usual genre, so the spots that required me to push through I won't hold against the writer.
The characters are well developed and realistic. I believe that many readers will find them relatable. Even the characters that I ended up hated...I hated because they were portrayed really well.
The best part was the ending (which I will NOT ruin for the readers...) It was well done.

I recommend this series if you like thriller/murder/mystery.

This is the an excellent book and a brilliant follow on from the other three, but certainly my favourite.
I love the different sleuth in the form of Kent Fisher, an Environmental Health Officer, it has a clever well written plot with humour and excellent one-liners. Its easy to either love or hate the characters and I like the fact that the more they appear the more you get to form your opinions of them.
What an ending.......role on book five!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Read!!

I was really looking forward to book 4 having read the author’s previous 3 books and it definitely didn’t disappoint; in fact, I would go as far to say that this has been his best to date. Once again, he has woven a very clever plot intermingled with Kent Fisher’s trade mark one-liners and what an ending!!!
Also I’d love to see his novels turned into a TV series, as I think they’d work really well.
Roll on book 5, can’t wait for it to be released!!

Following on from the previous mysteries in the series No More Lies is 'probably' the best yet. Excellent twists and turns keeps the mind working on overtime to solve the plot and work out whodunit until the end. Now patiently waiting for Book 5.

It's a great book where there is humour, drama and love complications. I particularly like Ken's one way conversation with Columbo. The suspense ending is nail biting.
