Bryce Blackheart invites you to lose yourself in his dark, suspenseful new novel, where every chapter promises a fresh surge of adrenaline and unrelenting suspense.
When Ella's twin brother Oscar disappears without a trace, her plans for a fresh start in London with her boyfriend Sam are upended. Forced to confront her crumbling reality, Ella finds herself at the center of a dangerous mystery that threatens to unravel the very fabric of her identity. In her desperate search for answers, she begins to question everything she thought she knew about her family, her past, and even herself.
As Detective Dingess digs deeper into the case, peeling back layers of dysfunctional family history, she uncovers a labyrinth of lies, forbidden desires, and hidden identities that span generations. Each character is intricately woven into this web of deceit, blurring the line between victim and suspect. The deeper Dingess digs, the more she realizes that nothing in this case is what it seems and that the truth may be more shocking than anyone could have imagined.

Every page brought a fresh surge of tension, making it hard to put the book down until the end.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2025Ella delayed flying to London when her twin brother disappeared. Her mother, Adelaide, drank heavily to cope. Dori was a very dedicated detective trying to find Oscar. I don't want to spoil the story for others but you will enjoy it.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2024This novel is an intense journey into the layers of secrets and lies that can lurk beneath even the closest relationships.
What I really appreciated was the way each character is crafted with complexity. No one feels one-dimensional.
The suspense is steady, building with each chapter, and kept me questioning everything.
Also, It explores deeply into family dynamics and trust in a way that’s both unsettling and thought-provoking.
If you enjoy a story that challenges your assumptions and keeps you on edge, i definitely recommend this.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2024"Bryce Blackheart masterfully delivers a dark and gripping tale with twists that will keep readers on edge. When Shadows Fall is a spellbinding exploration of family secrets and identity, unraveling a mystery that shocks at every turn."
- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2024This one is plodding gently along as one progresses through the story.
BUT, then: it gradually evolves in a semblance of a third rate television soap opera.
The story becomes more and more fanciful to the extent that you will only be reading on to discover what outlandish twist will evolve next - as you laugh aloud at the sequence of incongruities.
The author is perfectly suited to writing fanciful, involved tales for some very basic, midday American television show.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing and suspenseful!
I enjoyed this novel where we get to know Ella, her family and some of the complicated relationships stemming from her upbringing. Her twin brother has disappeared, and we follow Ella as she moved in with her mom, instead of moving to London with her boyfriend, during this turbulent time. The story and the characters have layers to them, and we see that everything is not as it first seemed. There are some twists, which makes for an interesting and captivating read - highly recommended if you enjoy suspenseful novels.
