About the author

Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.
Being a scary blend of Scottish and English, Tillie embraces both cultures; her English heritage through her love of HP sauce and freshly made Yorkshire Puddings, and her Scottish, which is mostly demonstrated by her frighteningly foul-mouthed episodes of pure rage and her much loved dirty jokes.
Having been born and raised as a Teesside Smoggie, Tillie, at age nineteen, moved thirty miles north to the 'Toon', Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, where she attended University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Religious Studies. She returned two years later to complete a Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching High School Social Studies. She regards Newcastle to be a home from home and enjoyed the Newcastle Geordie way of life for seven 'proper mint', 'lush' years.
Tillie, from a very young age has been part of the theatre community and loves nothing more than to entertain through the mediums of cheerleading, dance, drama and singing (sometimes in the rain). She can also be found in nightclubs around the world imitating her favourite artists alongside her crazy BFF’s - The Teesside Massive - or, sat on the front row at the theatre bopping along to her favourite musical, ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show ’, clad in a only a maids outfit, clutching a bag of rice and sporting a vibrant shade of red lipstick.
One summers day, after finishing reading her thousandth book on Kindle, Tillie turned to her husband and declared, "D'you know, I have a great idea for a story. I could write a book." Several months later, repeating the same tired line, she was scolded by her husband to shut up talking about writing a novel and 'just bloody do it!' Immediately she set off on a crazy journey, delving deep into her fertile imagination. Tillie, ever since, has written from the heart. She combines her passion for anything camp and glittery with her love of humour and dark brooding men (most often muscled and tattooed – they’re her weakness!).
After years of teaching high school Social Studies and following her Professional Rugby Player husband around Europe, they have settled in Calgary, Alberta where Tillie spends most of her days (and many a late night) lost in a writing euphoria or in her dream of pursuing a dazzling career as a barrel-racing, tasselled-chap, Stetson-wearing cowgirl... Ye-haw!

- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2014Tash is a 28 year old woman that is full figured, hysterically funny, smart and living in the UK.
She finds her boyfriend cheating and her, and finds herself moving to Canada with her even more hysterically funny, outrageously funny BFF, Tink.
Immediately, Tash finds herself the center of a famous movie star's attention, Tudor.
Tudor is immediately and irrevocably attracted to Tash, but he spends quite a bit of time telling himself, telling her and telling everyone else that he doesn't 'do ' relationships and that they are not.right.for.each.other.
The book has a nice HEA for Tudor and Tash. There is a bit of drama towards the end, but it wraps up nicely.
This book is not really a heavy romance. It's a funny, light romance with a small amount of drama thrown in.
I LOVE humorous romance novels. This made me laugh out loud. It is funny. Tink and Tash's sarcastic bantering is non-stop, OTT and funny. She make fun of him being gay, and he makes fun of her being heavy. If you are sensitive about either of these things, this book may irritate you. She is not fat, but Tink can be brutal. But you know he loves her unconditionally, so it's just funny and endearing. Tink of so flamboyantly gay - but it is never annoying or overplayed. It's funny and makes you fall for his character. He is adorable, loyal, kind and funny.
Tudor is probably the weakest character of them all. Even the silent boyfriend of Tink's seems to have more character than Tudor. Tudor is a large action hero actor. He is good looking. Has a big secret he is keeping from Tash which creates a rift from time to time. His need to push her away - at the same time lunging at her to ravish her is annoying and makes you wonder about his character. He seems more wishy-washy than a tortured soul. He seems more immature than a broken soul.
Then Tash goes through her own, "I am not good enough for Tudor b/c I am not skinny like the models he used to date."
That dragged on for a bit too long.
So with those two character flaws, I didn't find myself as engrossed in their relationships and I was hoping to be. It was nice that they got their HEA, but I didn't care enough about them to want to read a second book about them.
Tink, on the other hand, he deserves his own book!
There is a big dramatic scene in the book, and the big reveal of why Tudor is pushing himself away from Tash for so long. It was built up so much, that the actual villain just didn't have enough depth to be that villainous. The actual deed of what the villain does is bad, but I think the author should have built it up more so that we are at the end of our seat, reading anxiously about how the hero defeats this horrible villain. It just didn't have the 'punch' that I thought it should.
What did I like?
- The humor. Reading this book for the one liners alone is worth it. Don't even worry about the romance.
- Tink's character. Love how he throws himself out there - 'love me for who I am. if you don't, I don't care'
- A few steamy scenes. Not important, but still, I don't skip them. ;-)
- HEA
- No cliffhanger
- can be read as a stand alone (hate these series books where you have to read more than one book to get closure)
What didn't I like?
- Tudor's character. Just didn't have a strong enough spine for how I like my heroes
- Tash got a bit too insecure later in the book. Doubted her appeal to Tudor one too many times.
-Not sure why Tudor immediately fell so hard for Tash. Didn't feel it.
- Wish it ended at a different place. How does a super star make it work out with a 'regular' woman? Guess that is book 2?
- Tudor also seemed to be a bystander to Tash and Tink's humor, wish he could throw down a few comments too - otherwise it looks like she totally has a dominant personality and he is just there as eye candy.
I still gave this book 5 stars for the great dialogue.
The romance was 2 1/2 stars.
The plot was 2 1/2 stars.
Still - if you want to laugh, read this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2015This was my first book by this author and I'm glad I took the plunge. I now have 3 other of her books on my kindle.
This was at times a funny and light read and at others the humour was gone and replaced with some serious themes and messages.
Natasha (aka Tash or Wilbur) and her gay best friend John (aka Tink) move from England to Canada to get a fresh start after she walks in on her boyfriend doing the deed with his secretary.
The banter between these 2 was hilarious and the internal dialogue Tash has with herself made it enjoyable reading for me. They didn't take themselves too seriously but they had their little quirks that made them stand out in a crowd and boy did they know how to party and embarrass each other.
Tash is a teacher and Tink works in a restaurant and one night after a few too many drinks she bumps into one of her students and her family at this restaurant . Here she meets the gorgeous but broody Tudor North, the brother of her student and Hollywood actor. He was between filming and hiding away from the rest of the world and trying very hard to ensure no one recognised him.
Tash had no self confidence in regards to her body image because she has always had issues with her weight and was bullied at school because of it, so when Tudor appears to genuinely want to spend time with her she can't understand why. Unfortunately as quickly as their friendship started Tudor severs all ties and Tash is left in a complete state.
Tudor can't stay away, their paths keep crossing and eventually Tasha and Tudor start a relationship that is all sorts of hot. But Tudor is hiding something, which he admits to but sadly he can't tell Tash what the secret and reason for his pain and reclusive lifestyle is . I must admit I didn't see that twist coming but it all made sense when it came out.
There was no drama for drama sake and overall a really great read. Thanks for the recommendation Jill.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun romance
Loved this book! It's well written and told from Tash's (Natasha's) POV. It has drama, lots of laughs and her best friend 'Tink' (John), is a scream. There's a beautiful slow burn romance (with Canadian movie star Tudor), angst mixed with sweet moments and the steamy scenes are beautifully written. Just as I thought the story was wrapping up, it took a slight turn I didn't expect. The ending was lovely.
Geordie. I had to look it up, as I hadn't heard of it before, then I listened to the accents via a you-tube video. Do that first before reading, if possible, then the accents are in your head and the narration and conversations make total sense. Yes, there are lots of 'T 'names, done on purpose of course. Great British humour throughout.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heerlijk boek!
Heb vanaf het begin genoten van die heerlijke Engelse humor, stop daar een ongelofelijk stuk bij met de nodige problemen, en mijn avond kan niet meer stuk.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious!!!
HILARIOUS!
I so loved "Sweet Home" I was thrilled to read more of Tillie Cole. She did it again, I was hooked from the very first page! This book is very different from Sweet Home (except for the brooding hot bod male, thank you Mrs Cole!)but is a masterpiece of fun.
What are we looking for?
-Sassy, gorgeous heroine "on the plus size" with zero mouth filter: check.
-Glittery and totally eccentric gay best friend : check.
-Brooding, dark, tatooed movie star exuding male pheromones: check.
-Clumsy encounters where the heroine, slightly drunk and with zero complex but 100% "joie de vivre" makes a total funny fool of herself: check.
-Uncontrolable bursts of laughter and incredulous looks from my slightly worried husband (I knew she read too much, she has finally lost it!): check.
This book was so much fun with Tash's big mouth and witty comments. She was totally unfazed by the brooding act of Tudor, gorgeous movie star (even if she had butterflies or crazy bats in her stomac). She appealed to him with her strong character and no nonsense attitude.
Tash and her very "fairy" gay best friend and roommate "Tink" seize the life and live for every opportunity. Carpe Diem is the moto of the new "Tash and Tink", a way of life they now embrace with gusto and flourish.
Tash will literally turn Tudor's world upside down and the gruffy super star will become enthralled and very, very possessive of Tash, a real caveman (and if found it very, very endearing as in Sweet Home).
If you look for a real funny read with strong Georgie and gay diva, it's your book!
