About the author

I am an independent author writing about fictional lesbians of all varieties.
My writing journey began with fan faction, and as much as I LOVED being part of a community of super fans, I got tired of working with other people’s characters to tell my stories. I started asking myself: Why should we string together pieces of subtext when our community deserves well-developed main-text about LBGT people and those who love them! So, that is what I aim to deliver.
Welcome and make yourself at home. But please, take your shoes off before you put your feet up. My wife has rules.

JJ creates two unforgettable characters who have a witty and playful banter that sparks their chemistry and keeps the reader hooked. The dialogue is sharp and funny! JJ skillfully explores the emotions and conflicts of the characters as they navigate their attraction and relationship. The enemies-to-lovers story that will make you feel the heat and tension between the characters. JJ has a talent for writing erotic scenes that are not only hot, but also meaningful and revealing of the characters' personalities and feelings.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2021J. J. Arias did a good job with this enemy's to lovers romance. Though it took me a while to warm up to Sloane I found both characters very interesting and unique. Also like how they both had some major personality flaws.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2023Two strong women, Ari and Sloan, attending law school started off as friends, then they weren't. Competing to be the best can destroy friendships and, in a male dominated field being at the top is the only prize...or is it? A friends-to-enemies story that grabs and captivates you right from the start.
J.J. Arias is such a consistent storyteller. She skillfully weaves themes of conflict, jealousy, friendship, steamy sex scenes and love throughout the book. She is excellent at creating characters with depth and nuance. The dialogue, at times, is explosive, witty and tender. You won't soon forget these wonderful characters.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2024I always love every one of J.J.’s books! This one was witty and entertaining while following the MCs building romance. However , the ending did come rather quickly. Felt rushed. But the spice level was nice once you reached it more towards the very end of the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2022This is my 2nd book I've read and she does not disappoint. Their chemistry was unbelievable. So much undeniable crushing going on and angst OMG...I wanted to chain them together. Haha. But finally I got my wish when they are forced to stay in the same room working on a case together. The scene in their office was so 🥵🥵🥵🥵. They were so attracted to each other esp since this was unrequited for both since I think college....anyway this is a definite read. HEA!!! I really wanted her to go a little deeper into the end of the story, I feel like we got cheated....or we need another story into their future. Don't worry it's still HEA.... Believe me you'll know when you read it. I love the way she writes and it's always a slow burn and it's always emotional and tender and romantic and I'm downloading all her books hahaha.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2021I really like the characters and the storyline was good. But the ending felt really rushed. I still recommend this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2021I'll start by saying that I am a lawyer currently practicing in NYC. I also write lesbian fiction on the side and I had very low expectations when I bought this book. I am so happy to say I was entirely wrong. The book blew me away. The legal jargon was on point and witty, the character development was well rounded and the chemistry was insane. Absolutely will read it again and look forward to buying more from this author. Wish she would do a full sequel to this one because these characters are just great. Hats off to the author!!

Very easy to get into and the story moves along at a good pace. Good characters and back stories. Would recommend for fans of the enemies to lover's genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another success
Mega interesting characters were Ari and Sloane. Their bickering was hilarious, unbelievable, breathtaking and heart-wrenching...all at once. It made you seriously doubt they would be able to climb over themselves to find each other. But a very enjoyable journey it was.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book
I could not put it down. I just felt the both of them jump off the page. I wanted to tell them to just talk. I loved when they finally got over the anxiety and kiss again. Beautiful story.

2.0 out of 5 stars Wasted time
It started off really good. I read that it was a slow burn which I was fine with but it just went from bad to worse. Sexual tension built and finally we reached a passionate scene, but it led to no where only to them being disrupted when it only just began and notbing but a ripped pantyhose. Then weirdly these characters went from literally ripping each others pantyhose from the tension of sexual frustration and desire to small talk and a friendship romance. It just didn't work
