This was… surprising. I knew I wanted to read it from the moment it was announced as a thought for the author, and it was definitely worth waiting for! I just didn’t realize how much I would love it… Short, sweet, hot and NESSIE! I feel like this was exactly what it needed to be. Do I wish it was longer? Of course. Doesn’t that always happen with good novellas? But the vibes made me want to cry with missing Inverness and Loch Ness. This book felt like coming home. It’s DEFINITELY monster romance, and joining my top favorites. I can’t wait for more in this little cryptid world!

    This story is about a writer named Grayson, who is experiencing writers block and decides to go to Scotland to hopefully clear his head and the block. He also has been having dreams, calling him back to him home town, even though he was too little too remember it. He meets Hamish, a local, and has an undeniable attraction/connection with him. Grayson doesn't believe in the myth of the Loch Ness monster, and Hamish is determined to change his mind. I give this 3.5 stars. While reading this story, while I liked the premise and had lots of promise, it lacked a few components that I look for in a story, a feeling I get when reading to fully believe the love is real. All in all it was a good story and I enjoyed it, but wouldn't say I loved it, I liked it very much.

    The year is 2024 and I have just read my first monster romance. Honestly I am not sure how I feel about it, I finished the story Friday night and as I sit here on Monday writing this review I am still process it. And I have questions but overall it was an interesting experience?

    So first off, the romance was all very insta-love, but that is okay as I expected that with the whole fated-mates thing. I can roll with it, so I give it a try. Hamish and Gray have excellent chemistry, they are clearly attracted to each other and the banter had me grinning and blushing. Gray fumbling over himself and being a shy fool, while Hamish is oozing confidence was a delightful contrast. These two just work well together but the third member of this party, Nessie, is where I am not sure how to feel.

    Particularly, Gray goes from a non-believer to in love with Nessie real quick. Again, the fated-mates thing, fine I will let it slide. But when they eventually seal the deal...the logistics don't seem to work out well in my head. I am the type of reader who essentially watches a movie in her head when reading (I know there is a term for this but it is slipping my mind at the moment), anyways the proportions and inner workings were not lining up. Visually...I simply couldn't visualize it. I could see Gray kissing Nessie and everything past that was a blurred out censorship in my mind.

    So needless to say, interesting read, not sure if the size differences allow for all the sexy-time shenanigans? I think I need to do a little more research on monster romance authors and give it one more try before I definitively say if this is or isn't for me.

    I love monster romance books but I’ve never read one about the Loch Ness monster. So obviously I had to check this one out lol

    This story was short, fun, and pretty cute. We got more of the monster part in I believe the 5th chapter which wasn’t that bad for me. I did think there would be more in the aspect of the Loch Ness monster but in the end it worked out fine. We saw both MMC’s get to know each other and figure out why they’re so into each other in such a short time

    This was a good fast burn monster romance. If you are looking for the more human- like monsters, this is not your book. Learn the Harkness rule and if you can accept/ approve it, you should enjoy this book. While this book could have been drawn out with more details and more graphic scenes, it's good as is too. I like the idea of stories based on Scottish- specific "monsters" and will definitely keep up with the series.
