I haven't read the book yet, but I've heard alot of good things about it!The only issue I had with it was when It arrived...the book itself looks like it had been dropped and noone even had a second thought but to just package it up and send it. That's the only issue that seems wrong. It's easy to ignore tho...

Lord give me strength. ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE READ ALL 2021.
When I first read about Kal in Sweet Surrender, I was like "hey.. I am intrigued, the way he's written and how ~mysterious~ I am about that." He made several "appearances" in previous books, each time I was SWOONING over him (until Boyd's book then I was like excuse me, Daddy Boyd is here). Then I READ SWEET SIN. If you read this prequel you ARE AWARE of Elena (queen) and Kal (swoon).
THIS BOOK BLEW MY EXPECTATIONS OUT OF THE WATER! I religiously follow Sav R Miller on all social media, waiting for a glimpse of Kal, waiting PATIENTLY for his book to come out... literally had a countdown.
THIS BOOK IS MAGIC. Pure magic, the fact that this is loosely based on Hades and Persephone not only drew me in even more than expected, but it made this book different from other dark romances. There were moments in this book where I wanted to cry with the connection between Hades and Kal, he was always descries as a cold, dark, unemotional man, Ms. Miller did a great job creating this character and dropping the PLOT TWIST of the century with his back story. Part of me knew we were missing something (the first part of the book goes into detail about him and noises) but when this was finally mentioned, I was like AH OKAY THANKS.
Elena, mafia Princess, is a character that I loved from the moment. She is a strong females character, who will literally punch you in the face, that everyone needs to read. Elena is from a mafia family in Boston, her dad basically sells her off to Kal (not that she was really complaining...) but that's not really what happened (I WILL NOT SPOIL IT). She was one of the most complex characters that I have read in a while, she is not a weakling who bows to a man... no she is a woman who knows what she wants.
Without going into detail of the story, you need to read this book. Go in with an open mind and be prepared for your mind to be BLOWN ! Kal might have taken over as my ONE TRUE LOVE (Boyd who?!)
I love reading books with characters from other books, and then realizing that you don't know them at all, this is what Kal is. You think you know him, but you really don't. There are other King's Trace Characters in here (mentioning them) and the ending ... LAWD WHAT!? There is one character, will not be named, that deserved a brutal death but.... I digress.
Ms. Miller proved herself, again for the 4th time, that she is the QUEEN of Creating Dark Romance with backstory, STRONG CHARACTERS and hawt men.
